Chapter 391 - Chapter 391 - Public Body Inspection (Part 2)

"It doesn't matter; any woman will do. If she's a beauty, even better," Roy scanned the reporter with a subtle glance, lingering a few seconds longer on a certain part below the belt before slowly retracting his gaze.

The reporter felt goosebumps all over his body and wanted to shout out that he wasn't gay. When he saw that everyone around him was looking at him with the same subtle glances, he felt like crying. He really wanted him to take off his clothes in public to check for bruises. I didn't want to verify it myself by touching his back. Why were they all looking at him like that?

Anger aside, he still had to do what was necessary. Calling someone trustworthy from elsewhere to help with the examination would take a lot of time. If he waited that long, not only would Roy probably make fun of him, but the other reporters around would probably roast him as well. So he decided to pick a suitable candidate from the reporters. He knew that among the reporters, there were also several field hosts, and it would be most appropriate for them to confirm.

"Let's have Jessica do it!" He pointed to a blonde beauty in the back.

Jessica was an on-location host for FOX Television. Both FOX and the New York Post were owned by Murdoch, and the New York Post reporters wouldn't believe anyone present, but they would certainly believe her.

Jessica didn't expect such a golden opportunity to fall into her lap and eagerly walked to the front, her eyes fixated on Roy with fascination. She said, "It's my honor."

To become an on-location reporter, Jessica must have looked good. Her curly golden hair, seductive lips that somewhat resembled Angelina Jolie's, and her prominent bust that threatened to burst out of her clothing with every step, all drew the attention of the male onlookers.

Roy looked at her, smiled slightly, and revealed his back.

Jessica subconsciously licked her lower lip, stimulated by the pheromones emanating from him, her eyes almost dripping with desire as she stared at his perfect back until someone handed her a bottle of water, finally bringing her back to reality.

Her reaction was too obvious, making other reporters uncomfortable and a bit envious. He was just a male celebrity; was there any need to act like they hadn't seen a man in centuries?

The New York Post reporter, seeing her reaction, began to doubt if he had chosen the right person. Given her captivated expression, it didn't seem impossible for her to lie to help him "cover-up." But when he saw the various cameras and photographers, he relaxed. With so many eyes watching and so many viewers in front of the TV, any flaws would be noticed!

Under the gaze of countless eyes, Jessica poured bottled mineral water onto a towel that was handed to her and used it to wipe Roy's back. She did it professionally, making a point to show that the bottled mineral water was unopened, and the towel was freshly unwrapped without any unusual odor or suspicious actions.

She wiped about ten times, then took the towel away and displayed it in front of the reporters. The white towel was still white, without any traces of makeup residue as expected. Roy's back was still smooth, and there was no sign of the supposed bruises.

"How is this possible?" The New York Post reporter couldn't believe his eyes.

Louise had Roy put on his clothes again and then addressed the reporters in front of her with a flat expression. "Thank you very much to the reporter who raised this question. I don't think anyone will mistake the man above for Roy anymore. As for the statements made by the woman, they have caused a lot of damage to Roy and our company, and we reserve the right to pursue legal action. This press conference is now concluded."

She nodded to those below, then took Roy back to the company. No matter how the reporters tried to approach them, security personnel kept them outside.

Meanwhile, more viewers watching on TV were thrilled by this soap opera-worthy drama.

First, the newspapers exposed the story, then Roy denied it in public, followed by the female lead crying and explaining on various TV shows. Then there was the spectacle of checking for injuries. Soap operas couldn't match this level of excitement!

By this point, there were suddenly many more people supporting Roy.

According to an online survey conducted by a certain website, the percentage of people who believed Roy had cheated dropped from 23% to 12%, while the percentage of those who believed he was innocent jumped from 21% to 64%. The remaining 24% were either waiting for more evidence or didn't care.

While it was chaotic outside, Roy, who had returned to the company, was sweating bullets. There were indeed bruises, and they were still on his back, albeit slightly better than in the photos. The reason they hadn't been detected was that Jia Xiaoming had applied a special substance to the bruises.

He didn't know what it was, but Jia Xiaoming had bragged that it was the latest development in the world, a gadget only the top agents could use. It couldn't be washed off with water, and unless you used a brush to scrub the skin off, it wouldn't come off. You had to use a special solution to remove it.

Latest research, top agents, and all that nonsense—Roy was sure Jia Xiaoming was joking. However, he had tried washing it off with water, or he wouldn't have taken that bet. Whatever the case, the crisis had temporarily passed, but no one knew if that woman would do something foolish in the future.

In the United States, the situation had become a mess. After fermenting overnight in the East, the same news had now reached the other side of the Atlantic. At this moment, Laila was being promoted in the East as someone significant, just shy of wearing the hat of an international friend. Who would have thought that her boyfriend, a rising star in Hollywood, would be involved in a cheating scandal?

Early in the morning, Laila received numerous interview requests, many times more than before. It was a news topic with so much potential, how could they let it go? They had to chase after it!

"Boss, I think we should decline them all," Demi didn't know that her boss had been busy with this matter all night. Seeing her boss's pale face, she thought it was due to the distress caused by the rumor and didn't realize that it was because she hadn't slept much either.

"Decline? Why should we decline?" Laila asked back.
