It's been three days since I made it to Osaka and started rooming with Torabe like his home was an Airbnb. He complained for the first day, but afterward, he didn't care much; perhaps I had tamed him with various amounts of alcohol, or maybe I just annoyed him to the point of not caring. Either way, I was in for a good amount of free food and a nice place to sleep.
Today we were apparently going to head to a bathhouse and relax for the day, but not before going to certain places around Osaka.
Apparently, Torabe had a lot of places around Dotonbori he seemed to be glued to either due to the store itself, or the people who run the establishment.
Nonetheless, I had not much choice but to join him in tow and admire the various views and areas one by one. Torabe didn't waste any energy explaining any of the places to me, so I would simply meander around the store by myself and pick up what sort of specialty each place had. Some were pretty simple, like stores for stationery and other appliances, while others were a bit eccentric, model shops and light music stores. I was getting a taste of Torabe's home life as he gathered various items for him and his family.
I hadn't bought anything other than street food, so perhaps looking for a souvenir for Nao wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Nao is the type of girl to pry you of all your experiences when she isn't around you for it, so I was gonna have to make up a really convincing and boring story to tell her. Although I did want the souvenir to be something she would actually appreciate.
My search began, but not to my surprise I didn't find much in the sort of stores Torabe was taking me to. I decided to call it off until I could find some time to myself.
