Chapter 7 - Chapter Six

My time with my mom is really the best thing ever happened to me. I am sixteen years old by the time. I met my little brother Giovanni and sister Keighly. They are twins. I learned that their Dad is an Australian citizen, but they divorced shortly, leaving her and the kids behind.

1944, August 25th when Allied Forces won over Paris. 1945 April 30th, World War II ended after Hitler's death. In spite of series of Peace Treaty and reforms, World War still left a scar. My family went different ways. I live with my mom with the rest of my highschool days.

I am always a loyal and number one fan of my mother. (They kept on telling stuffs about how dirty woman she is). To me, she is everything --- my best friend, my mother, my teacher, my hero. To me, she is beautiful inside and out. Maybe, if there is something that I got from her is that I resembles her the most, as if we are a perfect picture of each other., that every time I look in the mirror, I can still see her.

A part of me still misses my family. I love my siblings and my Dad, and Emily, and Antoinette. Emily is present in every graduation that I have, even she hates me for what happened to Rolando. She told me once that I am still welcome.

Singapore is a very nice city to start a life. I spent my highschool in the capital. I enjoys doing soccer and theater. During my days there, I met Dani Lee. He is my first boyfriend in highschool and second in my entire life.

Before I went off with my mom, Heroine, my brother confesses his love for me.

"That's impossible, " I tell him. "It's suicide. We're not going to win this war. "

"You have to leave. " Heroine reaches for my hand again then bring it to his lips. "Do this for me Suzanne. "

"What if I don't want to? I want to go to John Cass School. I will go to my mother, my own way, " I said firmly.

"Do you love me?" he ask.

"Why? You're my brother. Of course. " I meet his gaze.

" We both know that is not the case between us. "

"Don't, " I tells him. "Stop right there. "

"I love you, " he said as he kisses me on the lips. It is not really so wrong because Heroine is just a foster child. His father is my dad's friend, and his mom died of giving birth to him. His father died during World War I. A very brave soldier. In the eyes of others, we are siblings, though, and it is so wrong.

That summer became so special because of him. We dated for few days then went on separate ways. Last thing I know, he escaped to San Francisco. I never heard of him since then.
