Artur lookeded up at her from the book he was reading to see her holding a sheet of paper. She lifted her eyes from the paper to Mordecai who was sitting on the dark red couch at the end of the room.
Everyone except Mordecai who was also reading a book looked up at her and she took in a deep breath.
This was Persephone's way of asking Mordecai not to dagger her with an enchanted blade that will put her to sleep and lock her in a coffin. Artur clenched his jaw because she would have to say something really convincing or their parents would have to step in to prevent her from getting daggered. Persephone rarely said something convincing or smart and their parents were most likely not going to step in so there was a high chance she was getting daggered.
