As we entered the house, we came to know just how small it was even from the interior.
Flooring, walls, doors, everything was made of wood. We noticed two rooms and a kitchen on the first floor, and also a very small area which barely passed to be called as a living room. The wooden stairs leading up were spiral which was the only attractive structure in the house.
Lily went to the kitchen whereas Oliver slowly opened one of the rooms. Me? I couldn't do these stuffs! I looked around for a nice place to sit and found a cozy looking sofa beside me. As I sat on the sofa, the table beside it held a vase which I had successfully moved out of its place. It went down to the ground but like a flash of lightning, I caught it.
I felt proud of the catch but only till I noticed Lily glaring at me from the kitchen and Oliver's irritated look as he had almost ran into the room and fell because of me. I understood it was better for my health to work just like they were and joined Oliver who was having a peek over inside the room through the slightly open door.
We didn't notice trouble and went inside as slow as a snail. The room wasn't very big. It had a bed, a cupboard and…. well, that's it. That was all the room consisted of. There was a window if you'd like to count that. No one was there in the room. But we wanted someone in it. We wanted Xavier in the room.
We came out of the room and Lily was coming out from the second room of the floor. Oliver shook his head as if to say Nope. Nothing's here. Let's go back home. "No luck in the kitchen. The other room has Xavier's parents from whom I barely escaped before getting caught." Lily said. All three of us together looked at the stairs leading up.
We didn't want to but we climbed up the stairs. Xavier was up there, somewhere. On the second floor, I could see a way leading to the balcony and the other path was leading to a room. We looked at each other, reassuring whether to really do this. Then we slowly began to open the door when someone called us.
"You are big brother's friends right?" A kid asked. We almost freaked out and screamed in fear. We turned back to watch Xavier's small brother standing there. We didn't reply. How could we tell the little child that we had come to kidnap his brother?
"I know you need big bro to come with you for some reason. I am pretty sure he would have said no, thinking about me." He sighed. We still had nothing to say. "Don't worry. He is a too over thinking guy. I will help you to convince him." Saying so the kid opened the door wide, making enough noise for the happily sleeping Xavier to get up.
He got up, his eyes still sleepy. "Big brother, I know you have a duty to do. I also know you care for me. But it doesn't change the fact that you need to go." The kid said. "I promise to follow the path you have dreamt of." Xavier almost had tears in his eyes. After a long conversation, Xavier looked at us smiling, "You kidnapped me guys. Let's save the world!"
