Reiko was a drug addict. Kaat had never been even drunk.
She wore that dress that made her look arrogant. A look that changed her a little from that aggression. It was covered with tattoos and blue. Kaat's skin was virgin. High heels refined this silhouette wrapped in a blue satin dress that made his eyes stand out.
In the gym glitter, music and faceted balls. Confetti and at the end of the evening a queen with her king. Why is it never a queen and her queen?
In the gym glitter, music and faceted balls. Confetti and at the end of the evening a queen with her king. Why is it never a queen and her queen? It is the high school dance. Kaat had timidly invited Reiko during a sweet evening of early summer. They had known each other for months, but they were not friends. The cat had been spared the violence of the high school. But she still didn't receive anything from her future prom partner.
It was in the park next to the high school, Kaat had given an appointment to Reiko. She came reluctantly, the outcast was afraid of an ambush. But there was only her. This beautiful blonde in the middle of this green tree grove. Kaat had inked her eyes into those of the people concerned and had murmured.
" Do you wanna go to the prom with me ? "
By this time her dream of being normal had taken over and she had replied yes. A frank, yes from the bottom of her heart. When she understood what she had just said, she knew that she would bitterly regret it.
The two women were prepared at length on each side. They had bought a dress that could please their partners. Without even knowing why they wanted to please, they wanted to offer a beautiful evening to each other.
Was it a date? Maybe...
The same evening they met in front of the gymnasium. Kaat spoke first.
"You didn't chicken out?
-I never give up. Shall we go in?"
What a wonder. This bland and tasteless gym had just revealed this. He who usually smelled sweat and feet, this time he was unrecognizable. Reiko was surprised to contemplate the reflection of the lights in Kaat's eyes. As two mirrors they sent to your face all your worst faults as your best qualities. God, that woman was beautiful. Without any complex.
However the silence was made around her. The pariah had just entered the prom for the first time.
"Everything is fine" says Kaat.
The two young women on their 31 fell into the mass quickly. At last almost. Reiko did not escape the hateful looks of the adolescents. The pariah had dared to point out at the prom, and the worst part was that she was accompanied.
This year it was the teachers who elected the queen of the ball, then she chose her king. Everyone in a corner of his head hoped to hear his name, and wear this chit plastic crown. It's kind of ironic, even as a child, we wore better quality tiaras and now they're fighting over a piece of oil.
Reiko and Kaat danced most of the evening, the outcast forgot her difference. It felt normal. But how can you be normal all night long when you're Reiko? After a while she needed to go to the toilet, like any normally constituted person. She slipped the information to her friend's ear.
"You want me to go with you?
-No thanks, I'm a big girl, I can still pee on my own."
She laughed and she sneeked between the evening dresses in the direction of the cabinets. God that it was dark in these corridors, she saw nothing. She went ahead, holding the walls. She came to the door of the toilets, when she opened it the light came on. Finally, she could discern something other than her feet. Once she had finished doing what she had to do she tried to open the door. Impossible, this one didn't want to hear anything. Reiko knocked many times on this one before he shouted. She knew full well that no one could hear her, it wasn't screaming of fear but screams of rage. She wanted to kill those who did this to her. Her phone was in Kaat's bag. So the pariah was stuck in the toilet. She heard laughter outside. Thus, all her dreams of banality had just collapsed, the thesis of a simple coincidence with them. If she was here because of them, whoever they were, they were the ones who got her there.
She felt her heart tightening this was the first time in a long time, she regretted not being like everyone else. For not being able to spend a normal evening without even a minor incident, if only she was not an pariah.
