Chapter 6 - The queens of the prom

Kaat saw the minutes passed. She was starting to worry. When she saw a group of boys coming out of the toilet laughing, she had a bad feeling and ran towards them. She could hear the screams - and numerous insults - of Reiko. They had blocked the door with a chair. Kaat pulled her out and the pariah finally got out.

"Are you all right?

-Yes, yes, I am. Reiko answered him out of breath. Kaat seized the hand of the pariah."

-Come on, we'll miss the prom queen election."

The two young women entered the gymnasium in time to hear Kaat's name. All eyes turned towards her. Kaat took a great inspiration and went up to the makeshift stage. She was proud. Now she had to choose her king. It is true that Elis liked him very much he had an angelic smile and a very marked jaw, she knew that often the kings of the ball ended together. She even dreamed about it. She looked him in the eye and said:

"Reiko"

It was the only time this seedy suburban high school was so quiet. The students went back to the pariah. But the silence was quickly broken, by many whispers. A hubbub had taken place. Hateful breaths, surprised breaths. It was so unimaginable that the pariah was the queen aka the king of the prom queen. They came at the same time to discover the name of this person. Name that even the teachers had forgotten.

Everyone was waiting for her to go on stage. Her hesitation was long. She understood by the time the whole school had stopped watching her that her friend had just made a huge mistake. Her choice had just been publicly stated. She was on the side of the pariah. The trap was there, it was an ambush over time.

She went on stage next to her queen. She was looking for a way out of Kaat's mess in which she had just put her in the greatest of unconsciousness, what she could be naive. She could imagine everything, but she didn't think, every time it would fall on the same person, Kaat.

No matter how much she imagined, she didn't think, every time it would fall on the same person, Kaat. Reiko felt the need to protect her. Her heart was terrified that Kaat was being treated badly, she wasn't strong enough to survive what she was going through. Maybe because she didn't want anyone else to have to go through this, Kaat still had a chance to get away with making friends.

Suddenly the solution seemed obvious to her. She approached Kaat's ear.

"Humiliate me, hit me, whatever you do, but make them think you're on their side. Don't protest that's an order."

Kaat this figure, who thought she was doing a good deed by naming her queen. Faced with her apparent hesitation, she adds.

"Do you like him, Elis? So if you want to have one chance with him, do it "

Her heart finally got over her head. She felt guilty now. The teachers who were supposed to be their chaperone ended up deserting the party. Kaat who had a glass in her hand empty it on Reiko. A laugh invaded the room. Laughter argued by "well done for her" and other very unpleasant things. And voila, Kaat was on their side.

Reiko addressed them, to a whole black, murderous look. One of those who, when we meet he gives us a shiver in the back. Kaat had never seen her like this before. It must be said that she has only known her for three months. At this time she knew very little about the pariah. Except that every night she slipped out of high school on a small, dark street. That kind of alley that scares us.

The famous evening of the ball, Reiko had received an SMS, she had quickly disappeared from the evening to disappear in the usual impasse. Kaat had already tried to follow her "quietly", but every time, the pariah sowed it. It was a waste of time.

However Kaat persisted this evening again. Perhaps the outcast lived it quite simply. Reiko was slower than usual, probably because of the high heels. Kaat did everything not to lose sight of her. Suddenly the pariah pushed a heavy black iron door. It dropped a sharp squeak and slammed in a thud, which startled Kaat.

Once the young blonde was sure that there was no one there, she approached the entrance, it was very dark. She held her ear to the door, and heard cries, though they were stifled by metal. Cries of encouragement or rage. If the outcast were in there it was because they were humiliating him. She felt it in her heart, that she had to enter, that she had to save her friend from the clutches of her attackers.

She took several great inspirations, to calm her heart, she was afraid, for her or for the pariah, she did not know herself, before pushing the door. Its usual squeaking sounds. Kaat this froze. No reaction from anyone. The screams were louder and a cigarette smell mixed with perspiration filled the lungs of the blonde. She fell right on a gathering of people, mainly male, screaming. She made a way between the drunk meat to see two people fighting. She looked better and saw Reiko, slaying his opponent with fists and feet.

Kaat remained speechless, the pariah of the high school took part in illegal fights of the bottom. Blood covered the face of the man in white marcel who was being beaten down. Reiko was using all the rage she had been accumulating in her for many days. On her face, barely lit by the light bulb floating in the middle of the room, appeared a smile. The opponent did not move anymore. That was the end for him. Was he dead?

Reiko greeted her cheering public who had apparently won a large sum thanks to her. And this is when she saw her, Kaat.
