Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 - Project Redo

A high pitch noise echoes in my head, and a stinging headache has conquered my head. Where am I by the way? I was in the classroom, and I was kicked in the face. How did I come here? This place doesn't look like a typical classroom. Grass, stones and roots are covering the rough ground. Trees are so tall that the top may even be a god's domain. What type of tree is that? It has white bark, the leaves seem to be red-colored, they look more like sails honestly. I stand up and look around. The forest is vast and there is also this thick, snow-white carpet of fog. I start taking careful steps forward, trying to find my way through this unnatural landscape. It continues and continues. I wouldn't be surprised if this forest was forever long in all directions. I continue walking for the next three hours with no stops. My legs are on fire and I have gotten metal rods inserted into my back and through my thighs. Sweat is running a marathon down my body and my joints have moved out. Am I dead maybe? Is that what this place is? No, it can't be, right? I was ready to leave everything behind, but not to die darn it! I guess I just have to keep walking.

I have now been walking for up to 9 hours probably. I have no idea what the hell is happening here. My muscles are failing, and my body is hurting worse than anything I have ever felt. I cannot give up yet! Step by Step! I must find something. SOMETHING ELSE THAN FRICKING FOG AND TREES!

I must

Continue forward

Even if it kills me

I can't leave like this

I won't

die

yet

I passed out, smashing into the ground. Tears on my face and a taste of blood in my mouth. This is the second time I have passed out since coming here, huh? Didn't that goddess or whatever say that I would be given talents of some sort? Why am I down in the dirt again then? I just lay here, waiting for my inevitable death. I'll probably die of something stupid like getting a centipede in my ear or something. Maybe my hair will turn white?

I wake up a while later. The sun shines on my eyes, and I hear chit-chatter around me. It's quite uncomfortable right here, like laying on shaking rocks. "Oh, you finally woke up! Great!" I hear a man's voice say. People seem to be panicking, they are passing things in between each other with lightning-speed. "Here, drink some water. You were basically human jerky when we found you." The first man says again. I sit up and chug the water. The pain in my throat is washed away with the water, but my thighs and back are still burning to crisp. "Are you hungry or something? You are still pale as a ghost." The man comments worryingly. "I'm okay, but where am I" I answer with a confused tone.

"You are in a merchant's caravan right now. Were moving towards the capital to sell some stuff. We have been lucky to not meet any bandits, but you looked like you had escaped something, care to tell us what happened?" He asks.

"In a merchant's caravan you say, right. Well when it comes to what happened. I woke up in the forest, no memory of this world. I tried to get out of the forest, but I walked for so long that I ended up passing out." I answer with a unsure tone.

"That is all? Are you sure you weren't knocked out by bandits or anything?" The man comments.

"Yes, that is litterally all I can remember, There may have been bandits somewhere, but I don't know where." I confirm.

The merchant is unable to sit still. His legs are shaking vigorously, as if he saw a monster or something. The rest of him is basically frozen still, I can basically see thoughtbubbles appear around his head. People around me sit completely still, but with a scared look. Am I really that strange? I can't be looking that different from these people, right? I grab my phone, and use the camera to look at myself. Nothing has really changed, but that scar across my face may be something they don't find to fond. "OI OI OI!! DON'T TOUCH ARTIFACTS WHILE HERE!!!!" The mechant shouts. "What artifact, I'm just using my pho.... oh, you mean this one?" I ask confused. I really managed to forget that I'm in some type of medieval world. Maybe I hit my head a bit hard when I passed out last time. "So that's not a weapon or something?" He asks. "No, just a information-tablet of sort." I answer. I should probably not have drawn it in front of them, but I can't go back in time. I try to connect to internet, but no luck. I look through my phone, and I find this strange app there. I open it, and are bombarded with article-titles. *Damascus-steel recipe* *How to make an pizza-oven* A bunch of things like that cover my phonescreen. Damn, if I had this, then why didn't anyone say so? Well, can't be looking at this forever. I put my phone back where it belongs. "That, ehm, tablet of yours. What can you do with it?" The merchant asks. "Oh that thing, it's basically a library but pocket-sized. There are all sorts of information there, and before you ask; it's not for sale." I answer. "Well, I guess there really are artifacts like that out there, huh?"

We sit and chat about the capital, the kingdom, it's people and other things on our way to the capital. It doesn't seem to be all that different from medieval europe actually, Exept that magic actually exists here, and people aren't playing town of salem when they see it. I am finally closing in on a place with fellow humans, so maybe I'll be able to get some work? Are there guilds in this world maybe. Guess I'll just have to find out!
