Chapter 3 - Chapter 2-

Seph's house wasn't far from school so he usually hung around a few minutes and chatted with his friends Samantha, he had many other friends but the one he talked to the most was Samantha.

"How was class?" He asked as he walked up to her at the front of the school.

"Boring as usual, what about yours?" She replied. Looking at him curiously, she knew him well and knew when he was anxious and he was definitely anxious.

"Oh normal I guess, just gonna ask my parents to let me go on the trip for history class"

" oh really? I thought-".

" sorry I have to go and try my best to convince them I'll talk to you later" he shouted as he ran down the street. She stood their confused as why he was so excited. His parents never let him do anything why would this time be different?

He walked up to his house which was nothing crazy. Two floors nice sized front and backyard. He was worried but he knew he would be able to convince them and if not he would just sneak some money or something and go without them knowing.

Once he opened the door he looked into a deep abyss of darkness. His home was never this dark during the day but he couldn't even see through the door to down the hall. There were no clouds today and there shouldn't be anyway for him to not see anything. He felt very uneasy and didn't want to go in but his mom's car was here so he knew she was home so he stepped into the darkness and closed the door. Once he stepped in he felt like he made a bad choice as he walked around calling for his mom. He heard foot steps in the laundry room so he walked over about to reach for the door knob

When he received a phone call and he checked and it was his mother number. So he answered.

"Hey mom I'm home already" he said.

" already? Ok I'll be right back from the store in 30 minutes, was just checking on you"

Seph had his hand inches from the laundry room door when he heard her words.

" so if you aren't here then how is your car here?"

" my car? I drove it to the store with me how could my car be there..."

there was a loud slam on the other side of the door. Seph didn't know who it could be if his mom's car was with her then who is here?

" mom I think I am going to have to call you back-"

" what was that noise what is going on!" She started to yell

" I will be right there go outside and stay out of the house right now" and as he was about to respond he heard the laundry room door open In front of him.

He began to sprint to the front door and once he opened it he saw that his mom's car wasn't there in the drive way.

His father pulled up to the house quickly and ruched out of the car 20 minutes later with Seph sitting out front.

" Seph what happened are you ok?" He stated as he started inspecting him for injuries.

" yea dad I'm fine but I have no clue what just happened. No one chased after once I got to the front door even when it was closed"

His father stared at him questioningly

" what do you mean no one was there you didn't see anyone?"

Seph shook his head " No nothing, I thought mom was here but she called as I was about to check."

A few hours later he was explaining to his parents over and over once his dad searched the whole house top to bottom.

" I don't think anything was here it could have been nothing" Seph stated hoping he would be able to ask his purpose to go on the trip still. After a while he went to go do homework and decided that he needed to lie to his parents after what happened and how they reacted he was never going to go to the trip.

So he approached his dad and only showed the signatures page and explained to him about the "health class" he would be attending. He felt guilty for lying to his parents but they never told him why he couldn't go and to him that's lying too. He needed to go just once and be able to have freedom even if it's short.

Seph's dad singed it without a question because he trusted his son and never thought that maybe he would want some freedom as a teenager.

After doing a cringe victory dance in his room he hid the papers to turn in to his teacher the following day. Nothing could make his life better right then. He called Samantha to tell her the news, leaving the unknown of what was to come in the back of his mind. Especially the thing that was in the house earlier.

Nothing could go wrong.
