POV: Third-Person
The puppet master of the drifting of Penelope and Grace's friendship smiled in his chair softly as he continues to check files. Claude with his skin being pale as snow and a perfect and flawless complexion, smiled to himself as he can feel that his plan to separate Grace and Penelope is coming to fruition. After all, Penelope was nothing more than a lowly spotless girl who'll bow down to anyone that gives her the slightest bit of attention. Claude knew this beforehand and took full advantage of it.
While smiling to himself, a sound of the door knocking is heard throughout the cold hollow room. Getting his attention to look at it with his bloodshot red eyes.
"My king." One of his vampire subjects came into the room to deliver a message. "The person you ordered to come here has now arrived. Is it alright for me to bring them in?"
"Sure. Bring her in. Actually, I've been waiting for her." Claude responded to his subject. Making the worker open the door fully to reveal a woman on the other side who's standing up tall. Her face covered by the shadow of the dark hallway.
"Finally! Though I didn't expect you to be here this early!" Claude stands up from his chair to greet the mysterious guest.
"Hello." The woman spoke in a soft voice, coming out of the shadow. She was gorgeous, jaw-dropping, and has curves too generous for any unsuspecting onlookers to ignore. Her grace and posh are enough to entice an audience and everything around her. Her face was of wonders that she would be the fairest of them all if she ever stepped foot outside.
"I am guessing you are informed already on your task since I told your supervisor about it, isn't that right?" Claude asks her, making her nod in silence.
"Yes. You requested me to pose as a college student for humans and keep an eye on Grace Salmont's physical, social and mental wellbeing. If my memory serves me correctly, that should be all right?" She spoke monotonously, acting professional yet alluring to the ears.
"Excellent. I suppose you, demons could understand basic instructions after all. The last time I made a contract with a demon, it didn't exactly turn out well since they had other plans to backstab me. It was quite the experience." Claude snarkily jabs on the demon woman's kind. Giving off an aura of superiority.
"I assure you. I am capable of keeping a deal. Though if you do have this prejudice against demons then perhaps it would be better for you to send one of your vampire subjects to spy on this human girl? After all, you are the king of the vampires. I doubt that someone powerful like you would need to rely on someone you can't trust." The woman responded to him respectfully, making him let out a chuckle.
"I have my reasons, though I don't really need to disclose them with you." Claude takes the say less than the necessary rule to full effect. The reason he didn't use any of his vampires for this task is because of the certain chaos that's happening with the vampires and Grace is too much of an important target. So if a vampire is spotted to be stalking her and keeping tabs on her, it'll be easily linked to Claude himself so he made the smart decision to ask a third party to do everything for him. After all, he has the money and power to do so. Can't bother getting hurt to do menial tasks, why to do it yourself when you can ask someone else to do it for you.
"Alright then. I won't pry any longer. Though I have a question about my job. What do I need to focus on keeping tabs on her? Anything you want me to look at? Hobbies? What she dreams? How she sleeps? Anything specific?" The woman asks.
"Her relationships with her friends and family. I want you to keep an eye on how their dynamics work. Are they close? Are they falling apart. I want you to give me full detail. I think it would be hard for you since you don't exactly feel any emotions as a demon but perhaps your experience as a succubus makes you understand about human relationships right?" Claude once again snarkily insults the succubus in front of her, hoping to get a reaction from her.
"Your voice seems to feel like you felt a great sense of satisfaction about what you said. Perhaps putting others down has a great effect on your ego." The woman responded harshly but with a polite tone as to not anger Claude.
"Do you have any more requests? Also, may I know the reason why you are keeping an eye on this Grace person. So I can act accordingly in case something happens, like if you don't want her to get hurt. I'd protect her, or when you want her to die a horrible death, I'd try to keep her healthy so you could kill her yourself." The succubus asked another question. Seems like she's really serious about her job.
"Let's just say, she's special to me. Make sure she doesn't exactly get hurt physically but I'm fine with her mental and emotional health being damaged just a little bit got it? Though I didn't exactly order you to do anything other than watch. Don't try doing anything that I didn't authorize got it?" Claude gives her a cheeky smile.
"Certainly. Anyways if that is all. I will take my leave now since I have to prepare my persona to get inside Grace's university. Good day to you." The succubus bowed down as a show of respect and quickly got off the door with a straight face to her.
"Get ready Grace.. this time. You won't get away from me. Your friend is the first one and you'll be mine next." Claude smiled to himself. Looking at one of Grace's pictures.
