POV: Grace Salmont
"Alright! Classes have ended! You may all go home now!" The teacher told us all, making everyone in the class cheer up and head straight outside in a burst of joyous laughter. I turn to look at Penelope who has her guard up as always. We glanced at each other for a moment, catching each other's eye before looking away in sheer embarrassment.
This fight we have is still active. I wonder how long is this going to take.... why can't she just see that I'm doing this for her and I just don't want to see her getting hurt.
I turn around to see Yuri who's also packing up his things along with his jar full of money. He tends to sell lollipops that are very expensive during break times and he earns a lot of money from it so every day I always see him with a jar filled with money. Our classmates are very trustworthy so no one has ever stolen from him. Well not that I know of, at least.
"Sup bitch! I just got a lot of money today! I'm so going to buy that cute jacket I found online!" He approaches me in a joyful manner but was put off by my pessimistic vibe.
"Sure... that's nice." I sighed, making him give me a funny look. "Geez. Can you stop pouting. You'll look ugly if you frown like that, you know. Why are you even so down today. Don't you know that smiling uses fewer muscles which puts less stress on your face." He tries to lighten up the mood by telling a joke.
"Because of Penelope. She hasn't talked to me yet. I didn't realize that this fight would take this long. You know. Usually, when we fight it takes like a whole day to resolve, and then we're back to being friends." I pouted once more.
"Ugh. Penelope just needs more time. Just be patient. She'll come around eventually, besides if she doesn't want to be your friend. You always have me right? Aren't I, your best friend?" He chuckled, smacking me in the back. "Come on! Let's eat some desserts in that nearest sweet shop! I am so craving some sweets right now and I want some of that new milk tea they have there! What do you say?" Yuri invites me, making me smile with amusement.
"Are you going to treat me to it? I mean you got some money from selling so you're pretty rich right now right?" I chuckled making Yuri's eyes roll.
"Stingy much. You literally have your own money Grace, isn't your family financially stable. It's not like we're going on a date so why should I pay for you, scum." He crosses his arms, making me chuckle loudly. "Fine. I'll treat you since I'm the one that invited but you better treat me next time got it!" He smacks me with his backpack lightly before finally heading outside for us to go to the cafe.
While we were laughing I looked back to see a lady in the distance, directly staring at us for a moment. I blink and she was already gone in my vision. Huh? Who was that? Must be some sort of delusion or something?
"Anyways! Let's get going! I heard the lines are really long at this time since their milk teas are so good!" Yuri drags me out of the classroom but I still continued to ponder what that girl was and how did she suddenly disappear.
As we continued walking to the cafe there's this feeling of dread that continued to follow me as we strolled there. It's as if I was being watched and observed is what I'm feeling. Actually, I've felt like I had been watched ever since my fight with Penelope. Is this some sort of six-sense that I don't know but whatever it is, it's strange, to say the least?
"Hey. Why are you glancing around everywhere like there's something wrong?" Yuri taps my shoulder noticing my fidgety vision.
"I just feel strange like someone is following us or something. I saw this girl that's looking at us back at the school but when I blinked they disappeared and I still feel like they are watching us." I expressed my concern to Yuri. Making him extra conscious about the surroundings.
"Actually I noticed that too. I wasn't saying it since I didn't really want you to worry or anything but I can sense that someone is following us too." He stopped for a moment, shouting. "HEY! WE CAN SEE YOU! DON'T STALK US!" He shouted for the stalker to hear apparently.
We turned around to see the woman still standing at the end of the road with an almost innocent look on her face but as soon as we both blinked, she disappeared like a bubble. What on earth!? Does she have the lightning speed or something? Suddenly a bunch of footsteps was heard. It got quieter and quieter meaning the stalker must have retreated but who was that girl.
"I have a bad feeling about this Grace. Honestly, I'm no longer in the mood for sweets. That girl totally ruined this for us." Yuri sighed.
"Agreed but who was that girl? Why was she following us? What does she want from us?" I asked questions but none of them can be answered.
"Why don't we just ask her? Or perhaps ask ourselves who would want to know where we are right now." Yuri proposed an idea, making me go into deep thought.
"Hmm.. who would waste their time and energy to get some information about us? I continued to think and one man came into mind and it was that bastard Claude. He has to be the one that's responsible for this. I'm not going to let him do this to me after what he's doing to Penelope. I guess I'll do what Yuri says. I'll ask him myself and get him to stop on my own.
