A young lady is sitting alone inside a quiet classroom. The afternoon sunlight gazing at her, as her hands slip through the pages of the book she's reading. The blue glasses she's wearing are slowly sliding down her nose and as she feels it her index finger pushes it back up. The little beads of sweat falling on the side of her face indicate that the weather is scorching hot, but it didn't faze the tranquility the said young lady is feeling. Lost in her own world as the wind brushes her short pixie hair slowly.
The other students passing by give her different looks and gazes which she grown used to. Pity, empathy, the "she's weird to look", "what a nerd", "pushover "and more. Some even thought she's a guy because of how she moves, and her ice-cold personality adds to it. The fact that she has a beautiful handsome face, if you can call it like that, made people call her "ice prince".
It may seem cliché, but that is how she lived her high school life.
That's why times like this are rare and she doesn't think twice about seizing that moment. The moment where she doesn't need to put an act for other people. A place where she can make mistakes. They are the ones who made up that "good girl" image, not her. The teachers always leave their jobs to her like writing and explaining the assignment. Collecting papers and books, bringing them to the faculty. Being the leader in groupworks and ending up having to do all of it but as time goes, she gradually learns to not do all the work and consider the feelings of her other groupmates.
She ends up doing the things she needs to do late at night because her anxiety prevents her. She ends up saying yes to everything because she thinks that's the only time, she'll be useful. Because at least even though they only need her for these things she feels alive, valuable. This is the only time she feels like she is a person being wanted and cared for too.
Pathetic, right?
Adding up to her list is that her mom and dad never fail to give her the things she needs and the necessities she needs in order to survive, but it gets a little lonely going home to an empty house because the both of them are at work.
She needs to be mature at a young age.
The fact that there is something "weird" going on here is a different topic. She's a little stronger than others, adds up to the things she is teased for. That's why she learned to hide her feelings and emotions.
But that is until one person changed all of that.
Sighing, she slowly dropped the book on her desk and stretch her body but decided to put her back a little lower on the chair and dropped her hands on her side making them looked like they are hanged as she stares at the ceiling. Closing her eyes, feeling everything around. She forgets that the door of the classroom is left open.
Hearing footsteps she ignored it at first thinking it's just another student passing by, but on the contrary, she hears a voice.
"So, the good-girl prince can have different emotions shown on her face too." Said the mysterious person.
Surprised, she immediately arranges her composure and as she does so, standing in front of her is none other than the "IT Girl" of her school and worse, she is her classmate.
Stuttering, she questioned the girl in front of her, "W-What are you doing here?".
And the girl answers her while putting her hands behind her back and smiling "Nothing, really. It's just the canteen feels stuffy. You why are you here? Let me guess… you also feel stuffy there, don't you?" exclaimed with such energetic tone.
The lady couldn't avoid that fact and lie.
To be honest the person in front of her really does fit the title given to her. Soft blonde hair modeled into a ponytail while her bangs sway with her moves. Blue eyes like the ocean when the sun sets and the sunrays of it is poured on the ocean while her lashes are long just like the seaweeds swaying in the direction of waves. A chiseled nose and not-so-chubby cheeks with an incredibly beautiful jaw, completing her whole appearance. To finish it all, plump lips, little freckles on her cheeks, and healthy glowing skin.
With just her smile you'll know she has a high spirit, a gullible person, and a social butterfly who is almost friendly to everyone…unlike her.
Lowering her gaze, she decided to just keep her mouth shut and ignore the girl in front of her… because eventually she will just leave and go on with her perfect life.
…..
But… that didn't go as how she predicted it to be.
The person in front of her dared to snatch the book she's reading. And a lot of questions popped up inside her head.
What the hell is wrong with her? Can't she just be like the others and mind their own business?!
"Hey, it's rude not to look at the person that is talking to you." Clenching and unclenching her fist she answered.
"What do you want?"
"Nothing. Is it wrong to talk to you? And besides, you're alone here. I kind of…just thought…that maybe gets pretty lonely sometimes…? I always see you alone here inside the classroom and none of the students invite you. I didn't mean it the wrong way…It's just I reaaaalllyy wanted to know you…I just wanted to accompany you. Besides, it's not like we don't know each other."
Hearing that, another thought came up to her mind. Just like one of those who pity me again, huh.
How funny.
Deciding that her peaceful afternoon is ruined she decided to go to the library instead. Snatching her book and standing up from her table she strides to the person in front her and said,
"Mind your own business."
Bumping her shoulder to her, walking briskly, she ignores the shouts behind her and continued to the direction of the school's library. She doesn't even know why she is angry… Maybe it's because she is enjoying her alone time? Or is she annoyed about the fact that she's somehow true? Or is it because she's jealous of her life…? Maybe all of it…But she doesn't want to admit that.
Shaking her head and slapping her face, she swears that it will never happen again. She will never let it happen again.
Or so…she taught.
