A RACE WITH ME?
After Syton and Stalane selected their weapons, Syton comfortably sat down on a near chair. He nodded at Gerin, signaling him to tell what he knows.
"What do you want to know?" Gerin first asked.
Syton quickly answered, "Who's this The Lord you're talking about?"
Gerin stared at his eyes for a moment before breathing heavily.
"No one knows who he actually is. Our ancestors met him during a war and they said that was also the time where he magically appeared to this world. He saved us and brought peace to us. Then, 300 years later he showed himself again. He laid down some new rules and set down a warning that in the future our world might encounter a catastrophe. He said that a people called braver will arrive at this place, and when that happened we should call ourselves as 'People of the Land'. He said that some of you, bravers, might actually confuse us as being a NPC. Well, I guess he was telling the truth since we have experienced that a lot."
Gerin stopped then signaled Aero to get them something to drink. He continued explaining while waiting for the Aero.
"After that, The Lord visited some of us then instructed them to help you bravers to get stronger or to be familiarize to this world. At first, our ancestors doubted him since what he's been saying was something so absurd. But another 100 years later, a braver really did arrived. Of course, the people who The Lord have talked to before was already dead but those people entrusted their role to their children before they've died. They told them what The Lord have ordered. And I was one of the children of our ancestors who received the directions from The Lord."
Finally, Aero arrived with the drinks and snacks. Syton took some. When he noticed that Stalane was hesitating, Syton offered the snack he grabbed at the table to her.
Gerin watched both of them while he drank some juice. He puts down his glass, then continued.
"25 years ago, The Lord showed himself to me. Probably, with the other People of the Land who he have also chosen. He explained the things I should do to help the bravers."
"What does he look like?" Stalane immediately asked.
Gerin shooked his head. "I don't know. He was covered in a royal blue robe. I think he was also using some spell to cover up his whole identity. He just introduced himself as The Lord. I believed in him since I could feel how terrifying and at the same time how comforting his aura was."
"Is he the one who invited us to this world?" Syton asked.
Gerin shrugged. "I don't know"
"Do you know how to contact him?"
"No. I don't think anyone does. He is a mysterious being" Gerin truthfully answered.
Stalane sighed when she heard this. Syton looked at her for a second before he came up with another question.
"I heard that getting a main quest are incredibly hard, do you know how we could get one?"
"Only bravers could have a main quest so I don't know how it works. But, I've heard that some bravers have already completed their 10 quest"
"Really? Who are they?" Stalane curiously asked.
"They're nowhere to be found"
Stalane frowned in confusion, but Syton understood. Those people who successfully completed their main quest have returned to earth or...
They're at a place where no one knows about and they are just really too good at hiding.
Syton and Stalane continued to ask questions and advices from Gerin. Gerin told them everything he knew.
But some of their questions were still left unanswered.
Around 9 pm was the time when Gerin finished answering the questions he owes to Syton.
Syton was also alone, looking for an inn that he'd be staying at.
Stalane decided to stay at the Iteria's forest instead. She plan to camp there for the night since she doesn't have enough Gou. She also thought to hunt some dera along the way to see what's the difference between the dera from Aflavior's forest and at the Iteria's forest.
But she didn't even got the chance to do this when she finally arrived at the forest. She immediately felt how tiring the whole day was. So, she just looked for a good spot on top of the tree and laid some traps on the ground.
She closed her eyes as she was leaning on a tree after she was done setting everything up.
She could still remember what Gerin told them earlier. She just feel more confused every time she thinks about it.
She let out a sigh as she whispered, "Main quest, huh?"
On the other hand, Syton is sitting on top of a roof, it's the roof of the inn where he's currently staying for the night.
He looked up at the sky as he excitedly smiled. "This is getting exciting!"

The next morning...
Syton and Stalane met up outside the Iteria town. They're now preparing to set out for their next destination.
They received the first gem from Gerin yesterday night. They also received some hints where the next gem might be.
They learned that the older cousin of Kiara and Kian holds the next gem.
Good thing, Aero gave them a map for the location of the house.
Syton grinned at Stalane when he saw her.
"Do you want to have a race with me?" Syton challenged Stalane.
Stalane looked at Syton feeling amused by his provocation. "Are you really challenging me? I thought you already know my stats?" Stalane asked.
Syton shrugged. "Well, I could just look at this as a training. So will you be my partner for my training?"
Stalane smirked. "The loser will treat the winner a meal"
"Deal!"
Syton stretched his legs, preparing to run. While Stalane just leisurely watched him.
"Are you ready?" Syton asked.
Stalane just shrugged.
"Then... Let's go!" Syton energetically shouted as he ran as fast as he can.
Stalane let him have the lead for a few seconds. She shook her head as she smiled. In a flash, she disappeared at the place where she was standing earlier.
