FORMING A PARTY
Since the enemies were now gone, Stalane decided to go on her own ways. But it doesn't looked like Syton would just let her because he's been following her ever since, which kind of annoyed her.
"So, what have you been up to? Have you gotten yourself some Gou?" Syton asked as he bothered Stalane.
Stalane stopped at her tracks to glare at him but Syton just responded it with his innocent smile. "What? Don't tell me you didn't?! What have you been doing for the past few months?!" Syton jokingly teased.
Stalane looked at the side as she said, "Who needs Gou if you could just ask others to give you foods?"
Syton was not expecting that kind of reply. He gasped as his eyes widened in surprise. "WHAT?!"
"What?" Stalane asked back.
After realizing everything, Syton laughed at Stalane's naivety. "I already told you that Gou is one of the most essential things to survive. Don't you need money when you're on Earth before? It's the same thing here"
Stalane scoffed. "I didn't need them. I spent most of my time here in the forest anyway"
"Don't say you didn't need them, you just don't know how to earn it. I bet the reason you stayed at the forest was because you didn't have enough Gou to pay for the rent in an inn" Syton teased more.
"I... was investigating and analyzing the movement of the monsters or what they called Deras" Stalane reasoned out.
Syton smirked, "For almost 5 months?"
"Shut up! Why are you following me anyway?"
Syton picked up a stone and played with it before he answered Stalane. "I helped you to defeat the 8 bravers that was chasing after you, don't you remember our deal? I told you that it wasn't for free"
Stalane was taken aback, "You know that I don't have Gou! In the first place, I didn't even agreed on it"
"No worries. I have an on going subquest and it has a time limit. The rewards are for my weapon. The subquest that I've got was recommended by the members of the guild that I'm temporarily staying at. If you want, I could introduce them to you so you could join"
"Joining any guild is not part of my plan yet. Just get to the point, Syton" Stalane impatiently said.
"Well you see the subquest seems to be a little hard so maybe I could ask you to party up with me for this quest. It doesn't look like you have any important matters going on anyways. Besides, having you on my party will really rise up the chance of finishing the quest faster and it will give me a little more assurance to have someone as strong as you"
Stalane slightly doubted Syton's words and she thought that he might be up to something. "Why didn't you asked your friends from the guild you're from to party up with you instead?"
Syton held up his both hands as he shook his head, "They are not as strong as you and I don't want to trouble them when they have their own problems to settle with. Their guild have a lot of debts to pay, you know?"
Syton noticed that Stalane was still hesitating so he used another bait. "You might earn Gou from our travels"
Stalane glared at him after that statement. "What's your subquest?"
"Looking for 3 gems"
"Gems, huh? So where are you heading at?"
"Iteria town. I've got a hint that the gem might be there. Apparently, the gem is for refining armor or weapon. Speaking of weapon, do you have one already?" Syton asked.
Coincidentally, Stalane does not have any proper weapon for herself yet. She was thinking of buying one but she does not have the Gou to pay for it. That is why for the past 5 months, all she did was do commissions from the adventurers and bravers that was passing through the forest and asking for an equivalent change for it like foods, potions, icons or cards, and some weapons. Although the things that the bravers and adventurers trade does not really pass her expectations or standards as a weapon.
Refining a weapon seems pleasant to her ears but the problem is that she doesn't know how to make a weapon. Well, she'll just take care of it when she already have the materials needed for the weapon.
Stalane held her chin as if she was thinking. "Do we get to share the rewards that you'll be getting from that subquest?" she inquired.
Syton smiled when she asked. "Yes! If we fill up a party form for the subquest"
"Okay, deal. But you also need to teach me how to earn Gou" Stalane agreed.
Syton laughed, "Of course"
With that, Syton prepared the contract form for the subquest.
Stalane heard a notification that rang on her head when a hologram appeared infront of her.
Syton took the 3 gems hunt quest!
Quest's time limit is on-going.

Stalane signed the form as what both of them agreed on.
"Don't hold me back" Stalane warned him after signing up.
Syton smiled as he boasted, "Why would I? Look at my stats, I'm slowly catching up to yours"
Stalane raised her eyebrows but doesn't bothered to retort back. "Let's go to the town you're talking about. A lot of Fesot Snakes resides here especially when it's night time. You don't have a plan staying at this place for the night, right?"
Syton stretched his arms and legs. "Okay, let's go" he agreed.
While Stalane jump from one tree to another and Syton ran from the ground, he tried to build up another conversation. "So? What's your plan after finishing up the quest with me?"
Stalane furrowed her brows when she heard the question. Can't this guy mind his own business? She also doesn't understand why she still can't read Syton like how she could read other people, but then she seems not bothered by it and that's why she's also annoyed.
"I'm gonna look for a weapon or someone who could make my own weapon. After that, I'm gonna look for my own quest" she answered.
"Well, I guess that's obvious. Since that's the real point why we were invited to this world after all"
Stalane glanced at Syton on her peripheral view, "I'm also gonna investigate more about the main quests" she continued.
Syton went silent as he glanced back before looking forward again. "Hmm" he hummed as he playfully smiled again as if he heard something interesting.
