Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

The planet of darkness wasn't like other planets in which the sun shines in the morning and the moon arise in the night. Rather it was a planet filled with the blackness of the night. No normal human could survive such climate.

It was cold, never peaceful, occupied with different dangerous creatures and humans either supernatural or not. Water was a hard thing to come by in such a place. Food was worse, even your own skin would taste better then trying to kill one of those creatures out of hunger.

However, only one place had light and it was a forbidden area, in fact it wasn't even a known area because it was within a tree. And it's only if this particular tree decides to open up before it is even noticed.

In this particular tree lived a one year six months old baby who could walk perfectly, sit and talk like an adult in a child's body.

The powers which each humans could gain in this planet were scarce. It varies from controlling darkness itself to being darkness itself.

When this child arrived at this planet, she owned no such powers, however, she was granted them once she clocked the age of six months.

At this ripe age of six months, baby's should be still acting like babies however, her case was different. She could walk by this age while also saying a few sentences. Her brain was so sharp due to how much power she had bestowed in her.

Since her powers were repressed, it wasn't surprising when the moment it was manifested, her brain developed at such a high rate.

The only reason he had crawled back towards the tree the night before was a part of her punishment and also the lack of response in which she gave her caretaker.

Her caretaker had a very mysterious figure, however her Master who was also the tree was just more mysterious than her caretaker.

She couldn't figure out if her Master was a either gender or neither. All she knew was the fact that it could change it's voice depending on the situation it called for.

Soon four years had arrived and savvy was five years old. This was also her new age to further explore the planet in which she called her home.

Standing right in front of the once upright and alive tree Savvy stared her gaze unmoving from the now dead and rotten tree.

Her caretaker was standing behind the tree with a sack on his back, his shoulders hunched over like he was tired of life and ready to give up. However, his eyes lightened up when he stared at the emotionless five year old who stood saying her last goodbyes or maybe cursing her only parental figure, home and Master who had abandoned her to rest in peace.

"Kid, we should move out while the sun is still out, remember we will be splitting up once we've crossed the river bank" The caretaker spoke his voice pulling her out of her thought.

"Of course I remember, I just need to say goodbye to this old Gizzard who thought it was right not to explain things further and just wither away like I meant nothing." Savvy acknowledged while complaining, however her tone never once shook or showed any weakness. It was as icy as she had been brought up.

"I'm happy that at least you aren't gone." Laughing the old man continued to comment "for a second I had been scared and was about to ask where the real you had disappeared to!?"Hahahahahaha!

Snotting she huffed while rolling her eyes at her caretaker. "Of course I'm still me! Or do you already have someone to replace my emotionless ass!? Hnmp! Let's move!" Savvy not bothering to give any last glance at the tree left hurriedly her heart was already too moved and she had promised her Master never to show weakness till they met again.

Although she knew what he meant at that Moment, she wasn't willing to accept dying so early into her life even when he had informed her of her imminent death that was unavoidable.

The further they walked, the more animals began to appear in their line of sight. Most were already howling and making crying noises. And due to this phenomenon, she realized her Master never lied to her about her death.

The caretaker watched this all happening with a fixed gaze unweaving. He had known her fate since the moment she was born however, he had to bid time and ensure her absolute safety which was the reason why her training became more intense as years went by.

A knowing smile crept up his lips when he realized they would be separating from here on out. And not surprising, she stepped forward into the rowing boat and with a wave she spoke threateningly " I better see and meet you again or else, you'll be praying to have died as your employer!"

Smiling at the child, he shook his head not responding to her angry words yet he knew she wasn't joking and meant every words she said. Turning on his hill, he left walking deeper towards the next town that was his destination. He had some scores to settle.

The boat rowed across the river, moving at a faster pace with each second. It's destination was the city across the river. The city known as 'Devastation'.

Two days later, Savvy's boat had reached it destination however, the child refused to step out of her boat a day after her arrival. Savvy didn't refuse, she was just weighing her options and also contemplating why her Master had sent her to this city to die.

Unknown to Savvy her Master had no say in that and was only following instructions to save her life. Savvy was meant to live the maximum of five years in the living world however, to extend her life, she had to die and be resurrected by no normal means.
