{Approximately two years later}
Finn, wearing a long dark furry jacket that fell to his knee's, had a serious and mature expression as he headed for the Village hall. Throughout the past two years he had been training hard and becoming stronger along with his friends. Walking through the Village, Finn now looked like a serious man, no longer a child to be taken lightly.
Approaching the Village hall, Finn saw all the people with serious, yet sorrowful looks on their face. The people lined up in parallel lines, creating a path for Finn to walk through. He entered the Village hall, stopped walking and looked forward. He took a deep breath and started walking again slowly in the direction he was looking. As he walked through the path made by the villagers, he looked around and saw Goran, Mia, and Aldren in the path.
Goran, with his large defined arms could be seen with a stern face. His back was straight and similar to Finn, he looked like a grown man nobody should mess with. Mia and Aldren stood next to Goran. Although compared to the warrior standing beside them they looked small, they had grown considerably in the past two years, both mentally and physically. The three could be considered strong warriors, at least in their Village.
Finn continued walking, until he reached the Leaders chair. Once he reached his destination he stopped, turned around, and spoke emotionally, "May the fallen rest. And may the living spread the tales of those that have fallen and gift their wisdom to those worthy of receiving it. Rest well, for you will be missed, until the day I am forgotten. Goodbye Regis, father. "
Regis, the leader of Ragon Village and the father of Finn, had unfortunately passed away previously that week due to old age. Fortunately, Finn was able to talk a lot with his father before and receive many lessons, some in wisdom and others in fighting techniques. Nonetheless a tear still managed to escape his eyes. As the tear ran down his cheek, he put his face down and sat in the Leaders chair. Since his father was now deceased, Finn was now to be the Leader of the village.
Upon sitting down in the Leaders chair, now his chair, everyone else in the Village hall grabbed a seat in the three long tables. Everyone in the Village was present, which meant that there were around 20 people sitting in the table waiting for their Leader to speak.
Finn said, "Very well then, I shall begin. Before my father passed away he gave me the blessing to be King. As his successor, I felt honored and also capable enough to fill the role." Although Finn was not a cocky person, he knew that he needed to speak in a commanding and exaggerated tone in order to establish his capability and authority. He needed to gain the Villagers respect as a leader, and not the leader's son.
As Finn was about to continue his declaration, a man suddenly spoke up. This man was one of his uncles, called Lenox. Lenox, his mother's brother, was not very close with Finn or Regis, and he felt resentment and irritation towards them. And so Lenox voiced his opinion.
"Kid, your father was the leader of Ragon Village, I had no complaints when he was." That was a lie. "But now that he's dead, what gives you the right to become Leader. I am far more experienced and wiser than you. I challenge your claim and I propose myself to be Leader." Just what Finn feared would happen.
As he finished speaking, Goran became annoyed at what he heard. Goran had become Finn's right-hand man through their harsh training the past two years. Although he stayed quiet in public places and didn't voice his opinions, he always acted when someone threatened his friends. Nonetheless, Goran was the type to remain calm until things got serious, this was the result of the confidence he had in his strength. Finn glanced at Goran and felt confidence.
After Lenox's remark, everyone started whispering to each other, until finally Finn spoke up. "You speak some truth, however disrespectful it may be. But, still, I believe I am fit to lead. What do you propose we do, vote?"
Lenox, knowing he would probably lose in a vote, responded quickly. "Nonsense, these are different times. The mutated animals are stronger than humans and they now rule the earth. This means strength is what's important in the world we live in. Strength makes a leader. I, as the strongest one among us, should rule." Lenox said this smugly, as he didn't think much of the boys training and growth in the past couple of years. Although no one could manifest their powers in Ragon Village, Lenox was still very skilled with a spear, which gave him confidence in his battle strength.
"Foolish" said Finn. "But...", Finn laughed, "Sure. The strongest should lead. Let's see who's truly stronger, eh?" Slowly a wicked smile could be seen on Finn's face. "Let's fight", he thought.
"HAHAHA", Lenox burst out in maddening laughter as he reacted to the boys insolence. "Then we will fight, until the other surrenders. We are family after all, no need for me to kill you.", he grinned. "Tomorrow afternoon, at 5PM, just before the sun rests. Do you accept?"
"Very well then...", Finn said as he left the chair and headed for the exit of the hall. As he walked past the crowd, Goran joined him on his right side, while Mia and Aldren followed closely on his left side. The long furry jacket Finn wore added to his demeanor as he was almost outside the hall. As the fierce looking group of warriors was about to leave the hall, Finn looked back and said:
"I accept."
