Carl's POV:
Daddy comes down the stairs when the doorbell rings the second time. Normally, It would have been the maids or the staff opening the door, but because today is Sunday and everyone is having a holiday, Daddy is doing the work.
You see we live in a big Castle, Our dad is the Alpha of the largest Pack in History. Basically, He rules the supernatural world. In future, My brothers and I will. Because we're triplets we will rule together, we will also share a mate. That's what mama told us before she went away. We are quite cold and intimidating to others as well. We are tall for 12-year-olds, about 5'4. Except for me, Adrian and Nathan are ruthless to everyone even our dad. They say I am soft when it comes to family and baby me.
I am pulled out of my thoughts when I hear daddy say,
"Matha?"
THAT'S MAMA!
I share a look with my brother and we run to the porch. There, mama is looking all bloody with bruises and stab wounds covering her. In her hand, is a small bundle of the blanket, which is bloodied too. I gasp when I realize that, that is our baby sister.
But, what's weird is that there is a mouth-watering scent coming from her. It's like roses but with a hint of caramel. I sniff and realize that my brothers are too.
"Are you getting the same scent from her?", I ask them.
"Yeah...does that mean...", Adrian trails off.
"Bella is our mate.", Nathan says rather loudly which attracts the attention of our dad who was helping mama inside.
"WHAT!?", he all but yells.
But upon seeing his mate wince, he stops.
"Come inside, we need to get you tended.", but before anyone could even blink mama turns so weak she falls to the ground, but before our sleeping sister can get hurt Nathan has her in his arms.
"Mama!", I scream and run and sit next to her. Soon, we are all surrounding her.
"I could only...s-save her. I-I d...don't h-have much time. Bella...is ou-our b-boys m-mate. I-I am s-sorry i-i l...left y-you, I-I h...had t-too,f-for bell's s...safety. ", she says her breathing starts to become shallow.
"No no no mama please wake up.", we three say together.
"No Martha, you gotta keep your eyes open! Please! I just got you back, please! I love you!", daddy cries and so do us.
"I love...you t-too.", and with that mama closes her eyes.
"No...Martha!", daddy cries while holding mama close to her.
"Dad...", Nathan trails off as he sees his whole hand is covered in blood that swept through the blanket, Bella had wrapped around her.
Smelling her blood, I growled ferociously.
"Why is she bleeding?", Adrian and I ask at the same time.
Daddy comes and tries to take her from Nathan's arms, but we all growl at the same time.
"I just want to see why she's bleeding.", Nathan shakes his head no, and uncovers the blanket himself and what we see leaves us stunned.
"She's Shot!"
