The night Kyoki manifested his Quirk, Kyoki's family went insane and ripped each other apart. When the police tried to send him to an Asylum in order to keep others safe, they were affected by Kyoki's Quirk and started killing each other.  Due to not knowing how to counteract Kyoki's Quirk the higher-ups decided to turn Kyoki's home into a personal asylum, which is actually a laboratory. You see the higher-ups wanted to use Kyoki's Quirk in order to temporarily or maybe even permanently disrupt a villain's control over their Quirk. After the news was leaked into the ears of a villain organisation, they decided to destroy the asylum/laboratory. But in the midst of the confusion Kyoki escaped and is now living alone in an abandoned apartment.

Roleplay Example:

Kyoki sat in the empty white room, counting the marks that riddled the once pristine walls. As he was counting he heard some of the doctors walk pass, he strained his ears hoping to hear anything entertaining, but all he could make out before the doctors left were the words, Director, Urgent, and Drug. Kyoki stood up and tried to get closer to the only door leading out of his white prison, but as he got close he felt a slight shock run throughout his body, that's when he remembered about the electrical collar attached to him. Kyoki looked at the door with longing before going back down to his original spot and began to count from where he left off. In the middle of his activity, Kyoki began to reminisce about the events that led him into the white prison.

*Flashback*

When Kyoki reached the age of nine, he and his parents went to the doctor in order to see if Kyoki had a quirk. Even though the doctor had confirmed that Kyoki indeed had a quirk that mutated his parents were ecstatic. That very night, when his family were preparing for a celebration Kyoki's quirk activated. The aftermath was horrifying, his mother was left as a bloody red lump of meat from which every trace of skin had been removed. His father barely resembled a human anymore as his once gentle was now gone as two large white eyeballs stared out from the red mass of flesh. His sister, the most tragic of the three, was torn apart by her once loving parents while still conscious, wondering what had happened to have created this tragedy.
