Chapter 34 - Chapter 35, Journey to Du Jiang Country

They walk out one after the other.

Qin Gehui opened the passage and read through it. "The information says, Guozhi and his  Army wanted to mine Southern Jiang, but when the king  of Southern Jiang refused, the Northern Jiang waged war on the country."

"That's right. '' Shen Qingchen added "the gains desired by a warring country might be precious materials such as gold and silver, or livestock. Which Northern Jiang has and that is hoped to be gained from war take the form of things like oil, minerals, or materials and good soil. which Southern Jiang possesses "

Bai Luo twists his face in confusion.

"I don't get it. If that's the case, then why don't they share. like each gives what the other is lacking, I mean to exchange... or something like that. "

"I understand you brother. " Mu Jin laughs

Siyang lands a hand "the world's population increases and basic resources become scarce, wars will be fought more often over fundamental essentials, such as water and food."

"None of them want to negotiate, so they can only settle it in war. If I beat you, I can take your belongings because you are weak and can't do anything to me. That's how the situation is in Du Jiang country" Chen Fan explains in the simplest way

"Now I get." Bai Luo smile with his four teeth showing

Unknown to them, some else was eavesdropping on their conversation.

"They get together so well. Let wait and see how far this can last."

Since that day, sixty years ago, Du Jiang country was divided into two parts, the Northern and Southern Jiang, there has never been peace, each side has always forced their way through to get what they want. The point of not wanting to disappoint their Ancestor was engraved in their heart.

Northern Jiang has precious materials such as gold and silver, or livestock such as cattle and horses. While Southern Jiang has things like oil, minerals, or good soil. It was like, the Southern has the food while the Northern has the money.

"We finally left the mountain, but it's nothing like I imagined, running like we're being hunted." Bai Luo complained

Mu Jin: "We have to do this brother. If you want to come down the mountain again in the future. "

"How long from now to Southern Du Jiang?" Yuan Zhongxin asked

Qin Gehui: "The time can't be predicted now, because it's not midnight yet. given the time we left it should take about two to three days before we arrived at our destination. "

"Since we don't know the situation in the Du Jiang country, it would be better to go early. " Shen Qingchen said.

"Careful!" Siyang shouted but it was too as the horses fall, only Snow-white was standing.

The road now was narrow, Chen Fan stood up and touched the thing in front of him. "There's a barrier here. "

"How is that possible?" Qin Gehui asked, they weren't near Du Jiang yet.

This forest has a lot of small animals. Mu Jin pats the dust off his butt, and walked forward: "There's really a barrier here."

"Not just a barrier, but a strange one at that. look these animals can go through." Bai Luo points at the little animals that were going in and of the barrier.

Qin Gehui: "I can't see through it. "

"How about we attack?" Zhang Wang suggested and send a pouch, but soon realize something was wrong. "What's going on? I feel my hand has gotten weaker."

"Really?"

"What happened?"

Li Siyang put his index finger on his forehead out of habit: "Now I get it. Zhang Wang, don't attack. This is a 'Discriminatory Barriers.' it's only effective on those with spiritual energy like us. That's why those animals were able to pass freely. To pass we have a seal our spiritual energy." Siyang said

Discriminatory Barrier: A forming barrier of spirit energy that can physically block attacks, and even causes effects such as suppressing the cultivation of others. The more you attack, the harder it becomes. But it's not effective against non-cultivators.

After a half-hour of walking, they were tired, Bai Luo noticed Guo Canran was about to sleep again and call out. "Brother Canran, this is not the time for sleep, you have to bear with it."

Guo Canran shot Bai Luo an unsure glance before stepping forward. Zhang Wang tried to follow suit when he noticed a dark shadow moving between the trees and caught him by surprise. He had been too focused on sealing his spiritual energy to notice a presence in their vicinity.

Before he could call out to Canran, the shadow had moved at the speed of the wind. A large, black wolf stood in front of Guo Canran, snarling and snapping its teeth. Guo Canran screamed and to everyone's surprise, fainted.

"You've got to be kidding me." Yuan Zhongxin said as he stopped down and poke Guo Canran with his finger.

" You could have just said there was a wolf." Bai Luo grumbled as he eyed the wolf cautiously.

The creature was surprised by all of them as it padded closer and sniffed Guo Canran with its muzzle. It retracted its head immediately when it felt Chen Fan glanced.

"How would I know he would faint over something like this? What is he, a pampered prince?" Zhang  Wang rolls his eyes

" Guo Canran has his problem, it's not as if he's scared … forget it, you won't understand." Bai Luo said as he pulled Guo Canran up on his feet and tried to awaken him.
