Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 Samson versus James

I never wanted to drink directly from humans because I didn't know if I could without killing them and I already was haunted by all the previous faces that I had killed when my hunger was bad. "You need blood," the doctor said "unfortunately more than a bag can give and it needs to be fresh if you wish to remain in health or you will continue to weaken" I nodded my head in understanding. I feared my own hunger and thirst for blood. I didn't wish to be a killer. "You won't let me kill her right? Please don't" I looked up at them and pleaded. The doctor reassured me "I promise she will live through your feeding." I took the donor girl's arm and winced as my teeth extracted and I winced again as I pierced her skin with them. I saw the doc take the feeder's wrist and watch hi watch and feeling the feeder's pulse and as this feeder started to faint and her pulse slowed the doc placed a hand on my shoulder "that's enough" he said. I immediately stopped and cleaned myself liking the last of the blood.

After feeding on multiple feeders with rest between feeding to check me over. The doctor finally said I was well enough to leave the clinic area. I was then taken to a room and bed where I was made to rest. Samson stayed with me waiting for me to ask more I couldn't ask though as my head swirled with the information I already collected and the night's events overwhelming me I gently drifted into a restless sleep. After what felt like a few hours there came a knock on the door. Samson must have assumed I was still fast asleep for he left with nothing of a goodbye. He must have assumed I was still asleep.

Samson must have gone for an hour or two now and I had drifted back to sleep after he had left and reawakened again this time curious as to the time of day I was also wide awake. My senses soared heightened even in ways I never thought possible I could see every brushstroke of paint on the wall every piece of thread in the carpet. I could even hear people talking in what seemed like several rooms over and across a hall. I had a feeling if I concentrated I could tell you their exact words for their conversation. Then as I had asked myself earlier what time it was it was almost as if I could sense and tell you it was 10 pm. And when I found the clock confirming my thought of the time it flashed ten o three. That was a little freaky. I had slept the whole day away and missed work I realized. I'd also given no reason for my absence though they thought I fell ill yesterday, I never missed work not at least without explanation. Then "shit my car," I said out loud it was still sitting in the parking lot of our last clinic job. Just as my train of thought started going off the rails another man I'd yet to meet opened and entered the main door I assumed. This man, I had never seen before but yet he looked familiar.

Before I could even fully look him over he said "Hello beautiful my name is James you must be Emily the grounds are abuzz about you young lady. I cocked my eyebrow at the young lady's comment I found it slightly amusing and said "I highly doubt that being over three thousand years in age is young. Even for a vampire well especially for a vampire. I laughed sarcastically. Something about him gave me chills but I couldn't decide yet good or bad ones. "really he replied over 300" he said, "all well it's not young per se but the elders here are well over five thousand human years of age." I locked him over almost as if he had spoken a foreign language then thought out loud."They must have the answers I need. Can I meet them?" I bolted upright reading myself to go making my way toward the middle of the room toward James. "Can you take me to them now?" after a moment paused realized I was now very closer to him and I suddenly felt wary of the man who called himself James.

"I'm sorry James; my excitement got the better of me," I said taking a step back. James looked a little like Samson. James was lean he had some muscles but he still looked scrawny in comparison to Samson. Samson's muscular strength and build made him look like a god. And while Samson had an impossible tan James was pale his veins showed through his translucent-like skin which seemed to look paper-thin. James had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes with a hint of gold flecks in them similar to Samson.

We were both bathed in candlelight and my eyes were still adjusting to my new sight. Since I could remember id always had a good vision but now I could see the hairs on James' ear spike up as we both heard footsteps in the hall the minute I registered the sound to be footsteps I also picked up and recognized a scent wafting through the air. It was Samson's; James placed a cupped hand on my cheek just as the door opened causing me to gasp in shock and my anger to flare.

I was mad at James for daring to touch me so intimately though relief had engulfed me at Samson's return. Although that was short-lived as the sight of us caused Samson to growl and then roar "get your hands off her James she's mine!!!" James smirked at the scene being made. His hand not leaving my face nor did he turn to give his brother any attention. He merely smirking said "I'm just getting myself better acquainted and introduced to the beautiful woman before me our dear Emily.

*Samson's pov*

After I placed Emily on my bed I grudgingly left to inform my father of her arrival. As well as her situation I found my father walking toward the meeting room of the council. "Father" I bowed to him "I must give you news and speak with you If you have time." My father turned to me with a smile on his face "of course my boy" he said clasping my shoulder and redirected us to his office. "What is it Samson my so you seem anxious and troubled," Said Augustus. I sighed father always read me like a book "Father I've found my mate" he looked me over and then beamed in awe "congratulations my son and where is the lucky woman?"

"She is resting father." I replied, "she has very little knowledge of our world including herself, for she is no new vampire, however." This statement caused my father to give me a look of confusion "what do you mean Samson speak plainly son." I took a deep breath and explained all I did know of her how we met and how she asked so many questions. I also told him how she had starved herself according to the coven doctor even. "She is still weakened father from her lack of feedings and knows so little of our world." Augustus my father stood pondering all that I told him. Finally relying "how can that be who sired her or who are her parents we should need more information on her son to make sure of who or what she truly is I have no doubt of her status to you as your mate but you must think of what dangers an unknown past can come to be.

I agreed with my father I "do not know the answers to these questions but I have every intention to find out helping her and ourselves to know her. But also whatever her past held the goddess Hecate has chosen her for me, and I will not just easily throw the goddess's gift aside that aside. I said to my father. "Well then said Augustus "I wish to meet her tomorrow after she has rested" I smiled as did my father "yes father; now I wish to return to her now with your permission." My father gave me a knowing smile. "Granted my son and he gave me a handshake before I walked away back to my room.

As I rounded the corner to my room I could smell her once more. though as I continued I smelled another scent "James" I growled and raced to the door bursting in I. what I saw enraged me causing me to see red, I saw his hands on her and him kissing distance though I couldn't tell if they had, the thought of him even being this close to her was enough to make me want to kill him. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER JAMES!" I roar James did not move other than to twitch his lips into a smile and speak to me said" I'm merely introducing myself and getting to know our dear em here." The fact that he dared give her a nickname made me lose control f my rage.

Before I even knew it I had my hand around his wrist in a vise-like grip. Grabbing him by the scruff of his neck I picked him up and threw him to the door "Get out". I shouted at him. "Now, now brother is that any way to act around a guest." tasking me between winces in pain. He stood himself up and straightens himself out though you could tell he had been hurt especially as he held his left rib cage trying to support it straightening his clothes and laughing he slowly left the room.
