"What are you talking about, you're in front of me and talking, right?"

Meryl held his hand closer to her mouth, kissing them both as she found another way to explain the situation. "Blink, dear." She said.

Oswald's heart skipped a beat. The simplest gesture one did without paying attention, as easy as breathing, became the hardest move to avoid. His two hands held by his mother, he couldn't use his fingers to keep them wide open.

"Don't go, okay?" He said, fighting against the irritating sensation on his protruding eyes. The instant she nodded, he blinked his eyes.

As soon as he reopened them, she wasn't in front of him anymore. The little golden puff of air that remained on the spot, moving slowly like a wisp. Oswald was empty-handed, the coldness of her hands was overwhelmed by his body heat and before he could utter a word, she whispered into his ears.

"It took me several days to understand it all."
