Chapter 5 - chapter 5

The moon had once again slipped behind the clouds.

When Violet's vision focused once more she found her captive tracing symbols in the dirt. mumbling--No, chanting to herself. her head was spinning, her mouth dry and that one fateful night engraved into her mind.

the women must of sensed violet's awakening because she paused her chanting and stood up straight. she walked over to violet and slid the manacles off like they were nothing but a pesky spiders web that needed to be removed. violet guessed that the chanting was a spell to unlock the magical shackles.

stretching slightly violet stood up slowly, careful not to move too fast as to not black out or startle the women next to her. violet tried to smile at the women but she just frowned and moved away. shrugging her shoulders Violet cleared her throat, "what am I to do now?"

"you mean what are we to do now" The women began to walk to the tree line, not looking back to see if Violet was following or not, she knew she would. "for now, better or for worse you will be travelling with me."

Violet stopped, "wait? but why would you want me around?"

"It turns out that you're more then just a delinquent vampire, I feel like there is more to your story then meets the eye" she said ominously.

violet hesitated again, though a inner force drew her to the stranger, "b-but...I don't even know your name"

the women turned back this time, "you can call me Elli, short for Elise"

violet let the name play on her tongue, the two syllables flowed like strange ancient music. "Elise is a pretty name" she stated as she began walking towards her captive, each step drawing her closer to that strange aura that was immensely addictive.

violet felt cold metal press against her wrists, though nothing could be seen--a phantoms touch. she looked at her wrists confusingly as she felt the metal tighten slightly, "what the--?"

"just a precaution", Elise mumbled as she continued walking, a spark of faint blue light appeared to float just inches above her palm. "I can't risk you changing your mind and trying to escape, this was the manacles will keep you in my control but also safe from any outside force"

Violet didn't know why she followed this strange women blindly, why being near her shred her apart but also seemed to ease the pain in her heart. she didn't understand the women's strange aura or why she felt such a strong pull towards her. though for now violet was content to follow Elise's orders, even if Elise didn't trust her enough, she understood why--violet was a human turned vampire and Elise a wolf. Destined to hate each other. Though to Violet it didn't seem like they hated each other, though Elise seemed to be tolerating Violet's presence, for what reason she did not know.

they continued walking through the forest, Elise has extinguished the small blue flame since dawn had began it's ascent, rising slowly to wrap the world in its warmth.
