Lucia dove through the mud and fought off the legions of Kyron's men blocking the path. She threw herself down beside Keitel. The blast had charred his chest. Her hands trembled as she began to heal him. It wasn't enough.
"Healer!" Lucia screamed. The Emperor's guard began to crowd around in protection as one of the sister's joined Lucia in healing. Keitel let out a breath. His eyes flickered up, watery and barely conscious.
"Lu..cia," he sputtered out a mouthful of blood.
"I'm here," Lucia cried, taking his hand in hers, "don't speak. It will be okay. We can heal you,"
"Empress," Another healer arrived, "Let us take it from here,"
Lucia's eyes were glued to Keitel when she heard another blast from behind.
