Michael gritted his teeth. Was Clover just playing games with them? Maybe the ruse had already been discovered. Michael noticed Clover's eyes scan the length of the door. At this point, it sat slightly ajar. Clover's eyes narrowed.
"How strange," Clover remarked, "it is my first time being summoned. Does the door normally open during a summoning?"
"How should I know?" Michael cut in quickly, "Enough about that. Be serious. Will you consider our deal or not?"
Keitel felt the hilt of his blade. All the anguish Clover had caused over the past year was fresh in Keitel's mind. Wouldn't it be better just to kill Clover now? And, oh how Keitel wanted to kill clover. If only Lucia hadn't intervened the first time. Back when Clover was weak, it would have been easy. But, now who knows how strong Clover had become?
Keitel squeezed his hand into a fist to draw it away from his blade. He would have Lucia back. No matter what it took. Keitel ducked down to one knee.
