Epik High's "Home is far away" starts playing in my headphones as I walk through the door. I stop for a second and take a deep breath. I feel...euphoric. For the first time in 2 months since I left home I was free. Free from family drama and free from a relationship that was going nowhere.
This song, even though it has a sad message, always put my heart at ease so I made sure to add it on my ipod.
I was on my way to work that morning and I couldn't help but smile at the sun, the sky was clear and blue.
"Ah, no rain today." I chuckle and instinctively raise my hands. Doing a 180° I leave.
Boom, thud, I fall down, hurting my bottom. "What the heck?" I said raising my head with an annoyed face. "I know I'm small but you should look down when you walk too!" I say raising my voice so he or she can clearly hear me. It was a man. From down here he seemed really tall. I take my headphones off.
A muscular hand reaches my way and I grab it, a bit confused because the tall stranger hasn't said a word, yet. "I'm so sorry." He finally spoke. 'Oh, my, such a sweet voice!' I whispered in my mind, being afraid that he'll read my thoughts somehow. I take a better look at him, still holding hands.
Dark brown eyes, with the body of an athlete, a well sculpted shape from head to toe and...tattoos, lots of them. Wearing a T-shirt that almost didn't fit him and some jeans that looked old but still stylish, with his messy hair he totally looked like a player. 'Still...hot.' I think and smile shyly. "I'm so sorry." He says again. "I got lost and was trying to look up the street I was on." We both look at our hands and quickly rush them apart. I suddenly feel cold, his hand was somewhat soothing, quite warm.
I quickly remove that thought from my mind. "Oh!" I said awkwardly, feeling a bit guilty for yelling. 'Way to show your insecurities for being small, duh!'
I grin and look up to him. "It's ok, I guess." I whisper. "Where are you going? I might be able to help." I ask, looking up to him with more confidence.
When we parted hands, we both took a step back, I'm usually shy and wary of new people so it was normal to do so but I couldn't help but wonder why he stepped back. 'Uh, overthink much?' I shrug and raise my head so I can see his face better. "I need to reach the Masa Hotel, the map on my phone says it's on this street but I've been up and down and haven't seen anything remotely that looks like a hotel."
"I see." I say, scratching my chin. "The street splits at the end of that intersection." And just end up pointing around him to the place I was talking about. "The hotel is on the right side, just after the Wild Cafe." He looks a bit confused.
'Why did I offer to help? I'm so bad at giving directions'. I feel like I messed up big time.
Taking a breath I say "I'm sorry, I'm bad at this. I can take you there, if that's ok, I actually work at the cafe." He smiles. 'He smiled at me.' I chuckle internally while my heart almost skipped a beat.
I giggle out loud and, at the same moment, I realised something, this man looked quite familiar. "If it's no bother for you." He paused a bit and then said thank you.
We started to slowly walk towards the intersection.
'Oh my God!' I internally scream. 'My idol, my star, my life.' In that moment reality hit me hard, I was truly shocked.
We both stayed silent for a minute or so but I was growing impatient and I just had to make sure. "Sorry, you're Jay Park, right?" I immediately regret asking.
His face was so...expressionless or I just couldn't read it at that time. I slowly bow my head in embarrassment.
'He might not be after alI.' I think, feeling sad. "Hmm...yes, I am." He laughs and continues. "You don't look like the type to listen to korean hip-hop."
"Oh, I love it!" I hurriedly said. " Even though I don't know much about others, I only listened to you...and your labelmates' songs." I add after a small pause. 'OK, liar, you're a fan of over 10 groups! You love k-pop!' Then a different though hit me. 'I hope I don't seem like a desperate fan though?' Still, I was quite happy.
"Wow, I am really honored!" He says, making a small bow. I blush. "Yeah, I'm a huge fan." Turning my head away I start paying attention to the cars on the street, not knowing what else to say.
As we walk I play instinctively with the headphones in my hands. I check my ipod and see that the next song is already on, Jay's "Solo".
At first I loved his romantic, slow, love making songs but as I grew older my taste in music changed and I just cannot get enough of his hip-hop songs.
And now I just couldn't believe myself, I was walking next to freaking Jay Park.
'My life is complete!' I want to scream of happiness but I don't want to look like a crazy person.
Let's not forget his smile, his perfect smile, the smile that melted millions of hearts, including mine.
I wake up to reality when I see the Wild Cafe sign in front of me. "Here we go!" I say pointing at the Masa Hotel. "Alright, thanks, see yah." He says and runs to the hotel doors. I wave goodbye. 'See yah? See yah?!'
"He didn't even ask for my name." I say pouting but he was already gone.
I take one last look at him before he opens the huge, glass door of the hotel and see him looking back, giving me a wave and a wink.
"HAHA" I laugh out loud. 'Wait, a wink? Did I see right?' I wondered tilting my head to the right. I was to far to actually know for sure. I sigh and just turn around.
Putting my headphones on I step inside the cafe.
