Chapter 7 - Clandestine Transaction {1/2}

As the gears of the world turned from the actions of Gerald and Ann, the culprits of the whole affair were busy with their own troubles...

"Hey, boy! How 'bout you do little ol' me a favor and untie these ropes? Yeah?"

"For the hundredth time: No,"

"Aw, why not? I promise I won't bite!"

Yes, right at this moment, they were preoccupied with an annoying(but tied up) Spec Ops from the US that was just recently, trying to shoot them in the face and then some...

"Anyways, where are we? This door ain't never been open before, after all, that strange blobby thing kept trying to kill us,"

After a brief moment of silence, the woman spoke up again, of course, this time, her voice was more subdued, as if afraid of what she mentioned. Naturally, Gerald was quite surprised with the set of information he had just heard from her.

"What do you mean kill?"

"Well... you see that hole in the wall?"

Looking at where her chin silently gestured. Gerald could see a human sized hole in the wall, of course, apart from that, he couldn't really make out anything else. But before he was about to lie the still unconscious Ann on the ground, the woman intervened.

"Don't try, we originally had 10 members, but 3 of 'em got thrown in the hole, and we only heard a thud after a minute or so,"

"Speaking of them, why were you even tied up? And what's with your shouting about them lying to you?"

Flinching at his Gerald's words, the woman was silent, her face scrunched up as if thinking of the right words. After musing on it for a few more minutes, she began speaking, though her tone could show her reluctance:

"Fine, but only on if you promise to untie these damn ropes..."

After thinking about it, Gerald agreed. And though you may think him an idiot for being so easily swayed, he had another trick up his sleeves: the crysis. At first, the woman felt smug at tricking the green-nosed kid, but after seeing him reload the gun that had just slaughtered her teammates, all she could think of was: 'Oh shit...'

"You can continue now,"

After muttering a few foul-mouthed curses, she slowly began her story:

"First things first, my name isn't You, it's Superbia Savant... Me and my unit come from the 45th branch of the CIA. We deal with things like potential foreign threats and the collection of new technology, this was why the investigation of a factory previously owned by the Lynds and Williams were hoisted on to us,"

Gesturing if he understood, Superbia seemed satisfied by his slight nod and began speaking once more:

"Our boss said if we managed to find any blueprints, we'd get paid 100,000 dollars. So I took the job, and after arriving in London, we discreetly came here yesterday, but after one whole day of nothing and with a few of our members already dead from that blob thing, we were just about ready to throw in the towel, I couldn't just give up, so I butted heads with everyone to take a last round under the tunnels, but you came along and killed everyone,"

As she got to this point in her story, Gerald couldn't help but ask again:

"So why were you so confused at out guns?"

"Hold on, I'm getting to that... So my boss told me that the guns just had recoil stoppers a few years ahead, he didn't tell me it was capable of ripping both men and doors in half-"

-dududududu!-

As she was going to finish her explanation, footsteps sounded from behind them. Looking at their direction, both Gerald and Superbia were surprised at who showed up.

The person himself also seemed surprised at the appearance of Superbia, and he stopped abruptly, his mouth half-closed in surprise, so did hers. And only after what seemed like hours, did this man speak.

"...Superbia?"

"...Baby?"
