The old lady looked at me and began to pull out books and parchments. "Princess Atti and Prince Alvion I would like to tell you a story first of the stone within your hands." I nodded my head and looked at Alvion who was looking at the lady with uncertainty. She began to open a large book and read.
"Five thousand years ago when the land was first discovered, there was a tribe in which worshipped a rock. The locals called it the 'Stone Of The Oceans.' They said it washed upon a shore one day and a fisherman discovered it. He decided to gift it to his lover for its uniqueness. Until. On his way home he was attacked by a group of feral wolves. He went to fight for his life when he noticed he had gained ungodly strength. Resulting in ripping the animals' heads off one by one with ease.
He returned home then gifted the stone to his love, but as soon as she came upon contact with the stone she fell to the floor with a thud. The color red had run up her arms circling them in a path straight to the heart. She began to convulse, and foam at the mouth. Within seconds she was gone as her heart exploded.
The fisherman grabbed the stone from her and threw it across the room. It returned to him. It began to glow a soft white. Every time he tried to rid of the stone, it would always return. The people in his village began to be frightened by the fisherman saying he was now a monster. As everyone who held the stone died in the same grotesque way. The only being to hold the stone and live was the lonely fisherman.
The fisherman was considered a freak. His once lack of strength turned into that of a thousand men. His once terrible sight returned to sharpness. His once lack of speed became increased. He tried to find why every time he held the stone everything would increase. Though he found nothing in the history of the land. He began to wonder if it was from this world. He recorded his days onto parchments.
Years after the fisherman discovered the stone. He made a brace for it. It consisted of wings around the stone to hold it onto his clothing. He began to wear the stone with pride. Once he reached his death, the locals in the land put the stone into a safe place and began to worship it and all its power. Many people tried to steal the stone only for them to have the same ungodly fate as the fisherman lover. No person was able to hold the stone. Until a large man grabbed the stone in a cloth and ran away into hiding.
Many years went by and no one seen the stone again. Many people came to think the stone was now a myth and some a legend. Until three hundred years ago a man stumbled upon it in a chest. This man was my fifth great grandfather.
I found it many years ago in the same chest it was discovered in and was wondering if I should see if the rumors of the Stone of the Oceans were true. Until a few days ago when a lady touched the stone and was killed. Then today when you grabbed the stone and it glowed. I now know the Stone of the Oceans is true. I have now seen it with my own eyes. I would like to say you must be very careful with this stone. It will give you many powers. You must also protect anyone who comes near it."
I looked over to Alvion who sat in shock. I was shaking in fear. 'What will happen to me? Will I eventually die in the same way? Or will I live?' I thought. I let go of the stone with my right hand and placed my hand on Alvions' shoulder I then looked at the old lady and asked, "What will happen to me?" Alvion placed his left hand on mine that rested upon his shoulder and looked ahead like he was in deep thought. The lady looked at me with a smile and said, "Looks like you are now the owner of the Stone of the Oceans. Wear it with pride. But beware, people will try to steal it from you when they catch word of its existence."
"Thank you very much for the story but if this is the real 'Stone of the Ocean', are you sure I should have it?" I asked the little old lady. She turned to me with a smile and exclaimed, "I think the stone found its owner before I did. You are welcome to have it."
"We should go if you would like to continue to explore the town and shops Atti," Alvion suggested. "Okay," I responded. I turned to the lady "Thank you so much miss I will get you something in return if you would like." I said.
The lady just shook her head no and walked them to the door and bid them farewell.
After leaving the house I walked to a nearby book with Alvion and asked "How long until everything closes? I want to see everything." He looked at me with his gorgeous crimson eyes and smiled. He leaned down to me and kissed the top of my head. I stood there shocked. He was known to never show affection to anyone. Not even his own parents or animals growing up. Now he just kissed the top of my head.
Alvion began to walk away from me be not without grabbing my hand and pulling me with him. "I'm not letting you go. You almost got yourself killed. You are staying by my side," Alvion said in a playful tone. "Well, let's go see the other stands," I exclaimed as I ran ahead of the smiling ash blonde.
