Viscount Rufus Mierheart was nervous as he sat across the cloaked man, an esteemed guest that he invited from the Mage Tower using all of his connections.
This was the current Tower Master's apprentice who would soon inherit the Tower Master position. It meant he was an exceptional mage in his field.
Viscount Mierheart was full of hope upon seeing this person who has the power to save his wife's life.
It had been years since Ellie, his wife, fell asleep without a warning. Since then, she has never opened her eyes.
Countless of doctors and mages came and go but no one was able to wake Ellie up.
The Viscount had almost lost hope and that was until he met this cloaked gentleman.
"Viscount!" The butler's sudden shout interrupted the meeting between the Viscount and the Viscount's masked visitor.
"Why are you shouting? I'm in the middle of a very important meeting!"
The butler was frightened but he quickly relayed what he saw in a stuttering voice.
"T..The madam! The m..madam woke up!"
Viscount Mierheart was stunned by this sudden news as though be had heard wrong. Just now, he was fantasing of a reality where his wife had woken up but he quickly recovered and held the butler's shoulders.
"Is it t-true?! Ellie woke up?!"
The butler nodded vigorously. "It's true, your grace! The madam woke up! The young master and Miss Vitron are currently inside!"
The Viscount's shoulders trembled and there seems to be unshed tears in his eyes. The Viscount didn't think it would be happen. He quickly composed himself and turned to his guest.
The masked visitor stood up.
"I understand the situation, Viscount. If it isn't a bother, I would also like to check on the madam since it was supposed to be my job to check on her condition. "The voice sounded male but the whole person was covered in a cloak while their face was covered with a mask, revealing only his eyes and mouth.
"Y-Yes! Of course, Lord Reinstrom. "
Meanwhile, Ellendise was watching a crying Valrug who was clinging to the Viscountess with snot and tears on his face.
She was a little doubtful that this crybaby was going to be the Scholar of Creations. He didn't seem to act the part...
Cestine was still happily playing with the knitted doll and she didn't seem like she wants to part with it anytime soon.
"T-That.. a fairy..? Is that Celes?" The Viscountess said in a hoarse voice as she struggled to talk.
"Mom, be careful! You should lie down! I've told the maids to call for a doctor and I'm sure father is on his way now!"
The Viscountess trembled but she continued to stare at the place where Cestine was.
"C..Celes..Celes.." She called out before she was forced to lie down again due to her weak body.
"Hey! That's my mom's name! This human knows Cestine's mom!"
"Auntie, this isn't Celes. Her name is Cestine." Ellendise corrected.
The fairy nodded her head vigorously and shook the doll.
"Cestine's mom looks like this! But prettier!"
"Cestine, where's your mom right now?"
"Cestine's mom is at home! Uh..But I snuck out.. Mom should never find out!"
Ellendise was in a dilemma. She got the wrong fairy... ?
But atleast the Viscountess woke up. Ellendise felt a slight discomfort at the unexpected turn of events. But who was the human friend that Cestine was referring to? If not the Viscountess then who?
The door opened again, breaking her concentratetion and this time, it was the Viscount who came. The unshed tears in his eyes slowly fell one by one as he kneeled infront of his wife.
"Ellie.. Ellie.. You're awake. You're finally awake..I'm sorry. I wasn't able to do anything. It's all my fault that you had to suffer."
"H-Honey.. I made you and our baby worry so much.. "
"Nonsense, Mom! What's important is you're awake! You'll be okay now. You'll be okay.. Ellen said so. She found your necklace!"
"...!"
"Ellen, is that true?" The Viscount asked.
Ellendise was immediately put in a difficult spot but she flashed them a smile.
"It was my friend who found it. I only did what was right. Cestine already taught the culprit a lesson. I'm sure that uncle is going to hear about it soo--"
"Your grace! The head maid was found tied upside down in the garden! She was badly hurt!" The butler said while his chest was heaving up and down.
"Someone also chopped her hair off!"
Ellendise glanced at Cestine. The fairy didn't seem to care.
"That.."The Viscount glanced at her and so did Valrug.
"Ah.. Cestine found the pendant from her... The pendant was originally aunt's.." She briefly explained.
"How dare that..!" Valrug gritted his teeth. "Immediately capture and detain that greedy wench!"
The butler nodded and took his leave. It wasn't a good idea to go against his master with the room's current move. The head maid had served the Mierheart family but in turns out she was a white eyed wolf who was capable of biting the hands that fed her!
The butler nervously went to do his duty and swore in his heart that he wouldn't make the same mistake.
"Ellen.. who is Cestine?" The Viscount inquired. "And what is the connection between the pendant and my wife's condition?"
"She's a fairy." Ellendise answered while Cestine started to fly in circles around the room. She was still holding the doll and since she was invisible in the eyes of others, the doll was the only visible thing they could see.
"That's..!"
"Celes' doll..." The Viscountess whispered weakly while smiling.
This time, Cestine didn't remain idle and she landed beside the Viscountess. Her small appearance materialized, making everyone gasp.
"Hehe, you know about Cestine's mom! This doll looks like her! It's mine now! I'm going to show it to her!"
Then she turned to Ellendise.
"Ellen! I've fulfilled your wish. I'm going back now. Visit me again!"
With that, the fairy with flower hands disappeared through the window along with the doll, leaving everyone silent.
"Oh my god, it's a fairy!" Valrug exclaimed in shock.
"It's a real fairy.. Ellen wasn't lying."
Ellendise felt offended. This guy was still doubting her after what she did?
