The strap around his neck was removed and the rope tightened around his hands.
He could feel the blood not reaching his fingers. He could feel his hands becoming numb. He needed to get out of there, fast.
"What do you want from me?" Said Jack
"Isn't it obvious at this point?" He looked at Jack's face. Jack's face was void of all emotion.
"Revenge! About that, what happened to Elvis?" Asked Rudolph
Outskirts Of Town
Mandy dropped down on the mat spread on the ground. She looked on as the sun set over the city.
She looked over her shoulder to see David approach. She had chosen to move along with King28 before she resumed dating other people.
David was a delight. He was a very simple guy. Down to earth and very sensitive too.
It was his idea to drive out of town and watch the sun set over it. It was beautiful. In that moment everything felt small.
"This was a great idea!" Said Mandy as David sat next to her.
"I hoped so. I really wanted to switch things up from the normal. Add some flavour! "He said in a modest tone.
"I'm sure you've brought many girls here, haven't you? " Asked Mandy, gazing into the horizon
" Actually no. I've been here a lot of times but always alone. I used to come here to think. To reflect. To find myself. It's my feel-good spot. " David spoke
Mandy's eyes widened. She turned to look at David whose eyes were fixed on the ground.
"Then why bring me here?" Asked Mandy
David raised his head. His eyes met with Mandy's. He looked into them. A surge of energy rushed through his entire body.
"Because I really like you." He said in a low pitched voice.
He advanced his head towards hers. Mandy knew what was about to happen. She wanted to ease away but she was paralyzed.
She could only sit back as her eyes involuntarily closed. She felt the warmth of David's lips on hers. She held her breath.
Her heartbeat raced. Her mind was clear. Nothing felt important anymore. She only felt the moment. Only that moment.
Olivia's House
Olivia sat behind her laptop. She had just gotten home from the office. She had brought home some homework.
She had borrowed files from the archives of the firm she worked in. She TOOK them actually. It was her mother's firm, no one was going to stop her.
She opened through the first file. Labelled Kiaru Mwingi. This was his actual name. He had built another name for himself, Kiaru Don. He had a tattoo of a snake on his right arm.
She looked through the files one after the other. There was nothing out of the ordinary she could find.
Kiaru was a typical businessman. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations started investigating him for suspicious activity. They suspected him of money laundering and funding organised crime.
He was arrested fifteen years ago. He was served at Kamiti Maximum Penitentiary for five years before he got out. The police always suspected he ran his operations from behind bars but never could prove it.
Two years after that he was found dead in police custody.
Old Town Memorial Park
Chris and Shea walked down the park. The crescent moon was perfectly visible in the night sky. The park was empty, therefore quiet.
Chris took a step back. Shea went on ahead, gazing at the stars. She thought she sawa shooting star. She quickly made a wish under her breath
Chris took out his phone. He scrolled through his song list. He stopped at the song he thought expressed the moment.
Chris placed the phone on the ground. Shea heard the music and turned to Chris.
"Khalid?"
Chris held out his hand. Shea held his hand and they started slow dancing. Chris led with the steps and Shea followed.
Shea was so happy. Chris was too. Shea was in Chris's arms, the song was at the chorus.
'Nothing feels better than this! '
Chris and Shea gazed into each other's eyes.
"I love you!" Said Chris
Suddenly the music stopped. They paused and turned to the phone.
A man held on to Chris's phone. He was taller and older than Chris. When he spoke they could see a distinctive gap between the lower incisors. Two on either side. He was very intimidating.
"I love 'Better'. It's a chill, pleasant, romantic, well-rounded urban contemporary record. It's not flashy, but highly enjoyable." He said in a warm tone, as he moved closer to them,"But you already knew that."
"We did!" Roared Chris, "Give me my phone and leave us alone."
The man was not phased at all. His eyes showed conviction and menace. Shea wasn't sure what was happening.
"We were having a good time. Just leave us alone" she said with such fierceness
Chris turned to him. Shea was behind Chris. The men stopped before Chris. They stated down at each other.
They were the same height. The man looked at Shea at smiled. He tried to make an advance at her but Chris pushed him back.
The man reach into his backside and removed a Glock. He pointed it at Chris. Chris held himself back.
"What are you going to do now?" Thundered the man
Shea had never felt this much afraid in her life. She was not only afraid for herself but for Chris too. She didn't know what to do.
"Gimme your money!"
Chris slowly reached into his wallet and threw it to him. The man, still holding the gun at them, checked it out.
"Five hundred shillings? Are you serious?"
The guy coked his gun. Shea was trembling and involuntarily pleaing at that point. The man walked up to Chris and hit him across the face with his gun.
Chris dropped to the ground unconscious. Shea rushed down to him. She was crying. She held Chris's head up. Blood oozed from his forehead.
The man grabbed Shea. He pushed her against the ground. Shea was on her chest.
The man pressed his knee against her back. She pressed the Glock on the side of her face.
"I'm not going to kill you. This isn't personal, I have a daughter to feed."
Shea could feel the heat from his breath. She felt so angry. Angry because she felt so helpless.
The man held up against her necklace and pull it from her neck. He Rose and quickly ran away.
She got up slowly. She held Chris in her arms. She looked into the sky. The moon was hidden by the clouds.
Happy Harbour
"It's been four months. You still hold a grudge?" Asked Jack sarcastically.
"You ruined my life Jacob." Rudolph muttered. He paused then," Is that even your name? You faked your death so I assume you were using a fake name too."
"You ruined your life. I didn't tell you to still from your employer! You did that on your own. I really thought you cared for her, like a daughter. "
"Don't give me that bullshit. You think you are better? You filled her hurt with love and happiness after only noising misery her entire life just so you can fake your death. Right after stealing millions worth and framing me," Rudolph was all emotions at that moment,"the person she always counted on. She was like a daughter to me and you turned her against me."
Jack felt really weak at that moment. Whatever Rudolph had said pierced into his heart. He had played with Rachel's emotions.
He got her to fall in love with him only for him to steal from her and leave.
"Now, I'm going to repay the favor. Where did you hide Elvis's body?" Asked Rudolph," I assume he's dead!"
Just then Jack remembered Elvis's words.
"Look at me. I'm a nosy drunk with no family... You'll figure it out."
Jack finally did. He looked up into Rudolph's eyes.
"He was meant to die!"
"Not exactly,"Rudolph smiled," You were meant to kill him!"
Meanwhile. Kamiti
Mathew sat by. He had his finger hovering over the call icon on his phone.
He was fifty fifty about calling Mandy. He Technically took off in a rush without her opinion.
He knew what she would say. She would have talked him out of it. Just then, Avery came in.
Mathew put his phone down and approached her.
"What did you find out?" Mathew burst out
Avery paused and looked at him. She wanted to tease him a bit but saw he was really serious.
She had noticed things were different with his friend. He tried to hide it from her but Avery noticed.
"Chris Dhati is in the system. Everything about him is legit. "
