Chapter 15 - Familiar

Sekke who visited the village where the protagonist of this world was living was currently sitting on top of the huge demon skeleton beside the first wizard king's statue.

"Here try this." said Sekke as he placed a cloth on the ground and on top of it were three different type of cookies.

"Out of these three there is one which is awfully bitter cause they were burnt. Let's see if you are lucky or not, oh just so you know the other two are absolutely delish." said Sekke as he looked at the bird in front of him.

The bird whose face was totally expressionless tilted her head in confusion not knowing what the boy in front of him wanted to do but thinking that the food in front of her might actually be good she decided to give it a try, if it was a prank to begin with she would peck the boy's head so hard that it would make a hole in its head.

The bird looked at the three cookies with an intense glare and after a while chose a cookie and stood in front of it and raised her wings telling the boy that she chooses this one.

Sekke nodded and then broke it into bite size for the bird and gave it to her.

The bird moved forward and looked back at Sekke once again wanting to know if this was a trap or not.

Feeling nothing dangerous from the cookie like poison or something else the bird pecked Sekke's hand and ate the small part given to her by Sekke.

Sekke looked at the bird and even though her expression didn't change he could tell that it tasted good since the bird didn't peck the hell out of him and even relaxed a bit.

'Hmph, mom's cookies always are the best.....as long as she don't burn them.' thought Sekke as he picked up one of the remaining biscuit in the cloth and put it in his mouth.

"*Cough**Cough* Shit, that was the bitter one." said Sekke as he coughed and took out a container from his bag which had some water in it.

After removing the bitter taste from his mouth Sekke offered some water to the bird who drank without any hesitation.

"...As I said earlier, you are quite smart for a bird. You are still near me even after I tried to catch you once means that you realised that I am not dangerous and got attracted by my irresistible charm right?" said Sekke with a smirk on his face and then said, "Well can't help it I am so dreamy afterall."

The bird looked at the boy in front of him, flew above its head and smacked it with its wing before she started pecking it.

"Hey! Ouch Ouch! Stop!" said Sekke as he caught the bird once again and brought it in front of his face and said, "You really are quite a haughty one, like real girls.....hmm....say do you want to become my familiar?"

Sekke asked making the bird widen its eyes in surprise.

Sekke smirked and said, "There are a lot of things that you can gain with this you know, three meals a day that would be good in both taste and for your body, a warm place to sleep and being the honour of being my first follower."

The bird looked at him with a deadpan expression and wanted to peck him once again but was not able to since she was caught, but still she thought that it was quite peculiar of someone asking her to be a familiar. She had never experienced something like that in her life before.

Sekke caressed her feather making the bird feel slightly ticklish and tremble a bit. He chuckled and then said, "Ah, right, since you are going to be my familiar I cannot keep calling you bird or something like that right? Hmm..'

Sekke started thinking while the bird just stared at him thinking that the boy already thought that she would become his familiar.

"...My name is Sekke and since you are a bird let's call you Secre....see we now have rhyming names.....I noticed that for the first time too." said Sekke though the last part was said in away that only he could understand that.

The bird on the other hand widend her eyes in shock before it turned back to normal as she started remberimg her old days. 'Secre huh....' thought the bird as she turned her head to look towards the statue as she stared at it for a while.

'...Maybe it will be fine.' though the bird as she pecked Sekke's hand who was distracted making it move his hands away in surprise.

"Ow, stop doing that already!!" said Sekke as he stared at the bird who flew up and then sat on top of its head, but didn't find it quite comfortable.

"Oh so you accepted my proposal. Fufu, you won't regret it Secre." said Sekke as he thought, 'Wow I really just joked about her being my familiar.....well anyway Secre is cute and it's not like it would be a burden to take care of her.'

"Come here." said Sekke as he moved his hand in front of Secre making it jump on it.

"Get in here and check whether it's fine." said Sekke as he revealed the pocket on his t-shirt which was big enough for Secre to sit in.

The bird got inside the pocket and just nodded it's head.

Sekke nodded as well as he patted the bird's head and said, "Let's get along from now on Secre." but didn't receive a reply.

'Well I spent quite a while here, I need to go back before the sun sets.' thought Sekke.

He then turned towards the statue once again and said, "Say good bye to the wizard king Secre, we need to go or my dad will be worried."

The bird stared intently at statue for a while before she bowed her head seeing which Sekked nodded his head and said, "Thanks a lot for what you did 5 centuries ago."

He then turned around and asked Srcre, "Are you ready Secre we will be going now." but just received a yell of a cock in response.

Sekke took his stuff and jumped on the wooden broom and then took off towards the village his father was in along with a new companion.

"...Secre, let's be good friends to each other and show the world how great and strog the dark lord is." to which once again Secre didn't respond and just let it be.

Though there was no change in her expression, she still felt quite happy that someone asked him to be his friend and just nodded it's head.

Sekke grinned as he made his way to the other village.with Secre in tow.
