Chapter 16 - A day with my familiar

A few days passed by since Sekke got Secre as his familiar, though Zuk still doesn't know about it and thinks that Sekke was just playing around with the bird.

Currently they were still in the village Zuk came to work and not having much to do anyway Sekke decided to use the terrain around the village to go on an adventure and train.

Being untouched by humans the forests were very good place for Sekke to play around as both the nature and the mana in the area was good, so using magic in the area will be slightly tougher than usual making it a good training spots, though he heard from the villagers that it was only a bit difficult and no where near close compared to the strong magic regions, it was still better than nothing.

"Secre, ready for today's run in the forest?" asked Sekke as he looked at the bird in his pocket.

Secre came out of his pocket and started flying beside Sekke. She has been living along with him for quite a few days and she has to say it was better than living in the open, comfortable cushion to sleep on, three meals a day, though they were just shares from Sekke's meal it was still good since the boy shared it along with her and eat together with her which was also a new feeling for her as she usually is all alone, and here was Sekke who being alone and his father being busy with work was left with Secre alone and did all sorts of things to her(.....no, we are not talking about 'those' kind of things.)

Though with all good came bad as well since Sekke tried to make her learn some tricks, like catching the break crumbs that he would throw in different directions, makig her wear cool clothes of her size, which she of course didn't do at all making Sekke sad though he just decided to continue persuading her, but the worst of all was the time when Sekke would take her out of the room so as she could defecate....for that Sekke always recieved a thorough beaking on his head before the bird would fly somewhere away from him and would come back after doing the deeds.

But still overall her life was good and she really appreciates what all Sekke do for her, but the fact that made her interested in Secre the most was,

"Extase-chan change to Excalibur." said Sekke as the short sword changed its shape and became a beautiful longsword which soon started glowing.

Feeling the amount of mana that the sword and Sekke were radiating made Secre look at him intently as she couldn't help but stare at that massive and beautiful mana. This was what was making her interested in him as she could not tell why he possessed that kind of mana. She has already met his father and knew that his mana was nowhere near as strong or huge like his son's.

"EX- CALIBUR!!!" yelled Sekke as he fired a beam from his bastardised Excalibur. And even though the power behind the attack was nowhere near comparable to the real one Sekke was really happy whenever he uses that attack.

"How was it Secre? It was awesome like always, right?" asked Sekke looking towards the bird who was quite a bit away from him and was watching him train.

Secre flew down towards Sekke and sat in his shoulder and nodded her head.

Sekke puffed his chest in pride and said, "Well I am awesome, no doubt about it, but it's all thanks to Extase-chan."

He then turned his sword back to its normal form and kissed it's blade.

Secre just stared at him and thought, 'I don't know why he do that.....but that sword is really something else.....I wonder how he got it.'

Sekke then stared at Extase for a while and then said, "Secre, can you take some distance, I want to try something."

Secre just flew up and sat on top of a nearby tree.

"Bronze creation magic: Countless swords"

Just as the name of the spell signifies around 10 swords, made up of his magic appeared around him and floated in the air.

He then summoned one of the swords near him and held it in his hand and took Extase in his other.

"Now let's just make sure it doesn't break." said Sekke as he stared at the bronze magic sword.

Soon the sword split in half from the middle making two symmetric swords.

Sekke then changed Extase's shape similar to that of the bronze sword and then placed it in between the sword halves and sandwiched it in between them.

"Now Extase chan.....just don't cut th-" said Sekke as he let the bronze sword covered Extase float in the air, but just as it got a metre away the bronze shell around it broke and Extase fell on the ground.

" -the bronze coating.....looks like I need to work on my spell's toughness rather than speed and power."

Sekke then took Extase and sheathed it before he held two of the bronze swords and let the other float behind him and said, "Let's go Kirito for a while." said Sekke as he made the other sword move away from him and then pointed all of them towards himself.

"*Inhale* Kirito mode on." said Sekke as all the swords aimed at him shot forward at a great speed, but to Sekke who had experienced quite a bit while fighting in the forests along with Will was accustomed to such speed and his senses were great as well.

Sekke then started dodging and slashing at the swords coming towards him trying to practice dual wielding since....well why not.

After making himself force to not use his dominating hand to block the incoming swords and instead use a combination of both the hands Sekke practised like that for a few minutes.

After doing that for a while Sekke fell down on the floor covered with sweat and taking deep breaths.

Secre who saw that thought, '...Well I did agree to become his familiar and he fulfills the conditions too.' and then flew up and dived into a bag that Sekke brought. She then pulled a towel out of the bag and flew towards Sekke before dropping it on top of his face.

"Thanks Secre." said Sekke with his face covered with towel.

Secre didn't reply and just landed beside Sekke and stared at him.

'...He still have that much mana left even though he used that many spells...' thought Secre as she looked at him.

"Secre I know that I am handsome but if you stare at me so much I will blu- Ouch!!"

Secre pecked his forehead as he said something stupid and then looked away.

"Ah...you pecked me so hard that blood came out." said Sekke as he covered he wiped the blood of his forehead without much thought since it was just a small wound that would hardly cause him any pain.

Secre on the other hand looked towards Sekke with her expressionless eyes slightly widened but met Sekke's back.

She hopped towards the side where Sekke was looking and saw him wiping the blood.

"Hmm....what happened Secre?" asked Sekke holding the cloth against his forehead.

Secre just stared at his forehead covered by the cloth and thought, 'Sorry, I didn't mean to hit that hard. Let me see it.'

Sekke noticed her looking intently at him and thought, '...Is she really captivated by my face, but I just joked about it.' thought Sekke but then he noticed the bird flying towards him and landing on his shoulder before she pulled the cloth.

'Oh my wound.'

"Don't worry Secre you are not strong enough to hurt me, it's just a bit of blood." said Sekke as he removed the cloth and showed the small scratch on his forehead, seeing which Secre mentally sighed and felt slightly embarrassed for jumping into conclusions, but none of that was expressed on her face.

Sekke caressed her head with his finger and said, "Anyway, thank you for worrying about me....and learn from this and don't attack me without thinking, alright?"

Secre stared at him and thought, 'Dont stay stupid things if you don't want to get hit.' but still nodded her head.

Sekke smiled and then stood up from the ground and said, "Now let's continue for a bit more and then let's have lunch. Secre, help me find where that big rock is which we used yesterday."

Secre flew up in the air and started looking around the area from the sky to look for the spot where the huge rock was.

Sekke on the other hand just applied some ointment that he always carried with him on the scratch and then followed Secre who soon came back to inform him.
