Chereads / Harmonia De Poetica "The harmony of poetry" / Chapter 42 - Inside, Outside

Chapter 42 - Inside, Outside

A river rushes with great sound,

Yet underneath is a world still calm.

We may not call it as such,

But calm is the best word that can intrust it.

So great the Stoics are!

A raging outside, but inside becomes calm.

So what of those who are calm outside,

But are like raging rivers inside?

To those, my prayers shall go,

For they fight the battles hardest to win.

To them I say, never give in,

Trust in the hands that hold you firm,

Take a lesson from the Stoics,

And become calm within.
