Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: Chapter 7

INT: GREENSTORM HIGH - DAY.

Olivia's POV.

Knowing I wasn't human; that I was a kinda super cat with super human abilities was quite fun and interesting, but the fact that I had to be hunted by werewolves and vampires was really creepy.

My grandfather finally lets me go back to school after three days intensive training on how to use and trust my cat senses. He also gave me a beeper I could use whenever I needed him.

I glanced at Freddy who sat two sits behind me, he wore a hoodie and a pair of sunglasses, probably to cover his scares. Although the sunglasses did seem to help, I could still see his purpled eyes, One of my kitty abilities I guessed.

English period was over, it was time for Biology. Sighs. I wasn't sure I could face Ethan, ever since I learnt that he was a werewolf, and an alpha and he tried to kill me when I was little. Gosh! It's really terrible.

Ethan entered the class, I tried as possible not to make eye contacts with him. Although the classroom was well ventilated, I was sweating profusely. I just wanted him to be done with whatever he was doing and just leave.

"Olivia!" He called.

My heart skipped a beat, why would he call me now.

"Yes Mr Odinson!" I gulped.

"Meet me, in my office." He said and left swiftly.

I was in panic, what did he wanted now? I know I would like to chat but I was scared to death. I gulped. He probably might have noticed I was absent for three days.

I left the class to meet him.

INT: ETHAN'S OFFICE – DAY.

Olivia's POV.

We arrived at his office, I was still wondering what he was up to.

He sat down on his office chair and stared at me intensely. His metallic blue eyes were so dreamingly that it made me restless, I had to bend my head to avoid his gaze.

"Olivia what's wrong with you?" He asked.

I wasn't sure how to answer his question. "Nothing," I said.

"Nothing!" He sighed. "You were absent for three days, no phone call and you've been avoiding me."

"I just — I got tied up to school works that's all." I lied. My heart still racing against my chest threatening to pop out from my mouth anytime soon.

He smiles mischievously making wonder what amused him.

"One thing I like about you Olivia." He stood up and strolls to meet me.

I tried to look as brave as possible, mustering the little courage I had.

"Is that you don't lie. Why would you start now?" He said.

I gulped down heavily, he was really close to me now. "Why do you think I'm lying?" I managed to ask.

"Because I can hear your heartbeat. It beats faster when you lie." He snapped.

I gasped.

He held my chin, and raised my head making our eyes meet. If only he knew what his shimmering eyes were doing to me.

"Are you— Are you a werewolf?" I stuttered.

He sighed. "Yes, I am." He snapped.

I sighed. I felt strangely relieved, why should I be? He was probably going to eat me any sooner.

I shifted backward away from him.

"You shouldn't be scared of me Olivia, I won't hurt you." He said, surprisingly softly.

"Why should I trust you now? I mean you tried to kill me when I was little."

Ethan's POV.

Olivia was right, her grandfather had told her everything. He wasn't sure how he was going to deal with it or at least tell her he was a changed man now.

He would accept his guilt without defending.

"Yes I did." He admitted. "But would you believe if I told you I'm a changed man now."

I could feel tears welling up in my eyes already, I wanted to be so wrong about him. Maybe I wanted him to lie to me, but instead he just admitted it. "People don't change overnight."

"Overnight? Yes. What about in Seventeen years?" He asked.

I was confused, I didn't know what to say again. Maybe knowing the truth wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I let the tear in my eyes flow down peacefully.

Ethan's POV.

He could see that Olivia was hurt knowing the truth about him. He wasn't sure how he was going to make it up to her. He wanted to right the wrongs the werewolves had done to her.

But it won't be easy at all. Being the last of her kind every Alpha wolf and vampires would probably be after her. So much unlike when there were other Xphynx cats.

"Olivia!" He called as he approached me.

"Don't come any closer." I brought out a knife I hid earlier.

"Would you kill me now." He asked calmly. I could hear the hurt in his voice, I could see it in his eyes. The way my grandfather stared at me. He was hurt that I was rejecting him for who he was. I couldn't help it, his kind kills my kind.

"If I have to? Yes." I said.

He walked to me, ignoring the knife. He took my hands and placed the tip of the knife on his chest.

"Then do it now!" He said.

I wasn't sure what to do, I couldn't kill a man, I didn't want to kill him. Although he didn't seem to be hurt by the knife which is slightly pierced against his chest, I did felt hurt.

"I won't resist, or fight back." He promised.

"Why?" I said more in a whisper.

"If it would make you happy, then you should." He said.

I dropped the knife on the ground. I stared up at him.  "No, I can't. I won't kill you." I said.

Ethan's POV.

Ethan sighed. Cats always remained what they were; weak and passionate creatures. If Olivia was a werewolf or vampire; she would kill him. Even if not for his crimes, but for the crimes of his kind against her.

If she was going to let him live, he wanted to protect her, to be there for her whenever she needed him. He wasn't going to see her hurt again.

He held me and hugged me, making me feel his warmth which was quite consoling. I cried more like a baby against his chest, I didn't want it to be like that. He was an alpha wolf and I am a Xphynx cat; more like sworn enemies. I didn't want to let go.

"I'm sorry Olivia." He muttered against my hair, as he strokes my hair and back gently.

"I'm sorry for everything." He said.

I looked up to him. "Promise me– Promise you won't leave me."

He stared at me startled, I guessed he was surprised that I forgave him so quickly. Not that I was angry with him.

"I promise. I will be there for you. To protect you, I won't let anyone hurt you again." He assured.

I leaned on his chest, listening to his heart which beats slow and steadily against his chest. "Ethan! Would you ever want to drink my blood?" I asked curiously.

He stared at me, he smirks revealing his shimmering white fangs which were now elongated. Was it what I said?

"No!" He snapped. "Not even a taste of it."

"Why? Aren't you an alpha wolf?" I asked.

"As long as I don't taste your blood or the blood of any other Xphynx, I can control myself. But the moment I taste your blood, I will loose it. One can never get enough of a Xphynx cat's blood." He explained.

I sighed. Why was I asking stupid questions in the first place.
