I didn't think of much when I first came here. It all felt like a dream honestly, it's when I couldn't wake up that was the problem. "Where am I?" I asked but to no avail, how would I get back? Am I stranded here? I miss home. All these thoughts that came to me- we're meaningless, for I had no home, no family, no ties to my world. I dont know if it was ignorance or blind optimism that kept me from being sad, but I felt sad, and distraught. I was disappointed with what I was, I was nothing but maybe I was something here. "No more nothing. No more excuses" I said to myself, I was so sure that this was my new home.
Years pass and a new age has shown its face. My accomplishments seem to precede me, yet on my walk...
"Woah! Ow!" something caught my ear or rather an interesting event happened, I never thought of it before but somehow I knew what that strange boy was he had poor clothing, almost ragged and worn out pants. Shoes that were shiny but scuffed around the edges, at that point I knew he was special. Why? Because...
He was me at some point.
"Looks like we're here, anything I can't teach you the library can" "I forgot to ask, what's your name?"
Present Day...
"How are you riding a WAVE!?" Jack said desperately trying to get away from Morgan who angrily shouted "Why are you not defending yourself?! You challenge me by giving me a good punch? And you're- where did you? Go?" His eyes took a moment to rest as he carefully looks around the room, until he hears "ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU ENOUGH!" "Mr. Finn!?" Morgan disperses the wave and returns the water to his satchel as he bows his head "I'm so so so sorry Mr. Finnegan Sir!" "Sheesh Arthur, you got this one riding you pretty tight" Arthur scowls at Darcy "Ehehe"
He turns to Jack and asks "Jack? What is this about?" he sighs disappointed in his students "I started it, I punched him and gave him a blackeye" "A wh-" Morgan is cut off by Arthur raising his hand signaling silence "Ok we have the who, now we need the what. As in what is this about?" "I believe I started that sir" "Morgan? Explain." Morgan was reluctant at first but he told the truth in the end, how he went too far with his comments on Ms Darcy's teachings, Arthur laid into him as well giving both Jack and Morgan a whole 2 weeks suspension "Now before you go, Morgan apologise to Ms. Darcy, and Jack the same with Morgan please"
The two followed the instructions given before they were escorted back to the second floor of the main library, banned from coming to the 4th floors entrance for 2 weeks. Later on after the first day ended, inside a comfy little café somewhere in town "What a hectic first day! You got to exp-" "Suspended, the two were suspended Darcy." "Right... But still I liked Morgan, yes he was mean but I think he was just being critical, I mean I was probably rambling on about my theories and thoughts for a while!" "You are very talkative, but still what he said was disrespectful and completely out of line, that deserves proper punishment" "I guess... Hey! What about that other boy, what was his name uh Jack!" "Yes, what about the boy?" "Doesn't he feel odd to you? Like his clothes and mannerisms?" "He probably comes from Mida City, I've seen people like him. Why does it matter?" "Because I've been to Mida City, no matter how you look at him, he still looks out of place" Arthur's suspicions grew a tiny bit after Darcy spoke, meanwhile
"In just one day I read children's books to learn magic, punched an elf, ran from said elf who was riding a wave of water, and got suspended. It's not even sundown yet!" As Jack hunches over in defeat he feels his stomach growling at him, "Ooh man, I was so busy today. I didn't even notice I'm starving" Jack looks around but he can't see anything in town that resembled a restaurant, he was about to just walk off until "Hey you!" "Morgan?" Jack thought as he replies "Yes???" there was a catch in his throat when he called back, he stuttered as he stepped forward when Morgan says "You look pale! Come with me. Now!" Jack couldn't think straight but he knew that he didn't want to be involved with the man so he just carefully walks away but just before he steps back Morgan reaches for his shoulder and pulls him to his chest "I said. Come." Jack in this situation felt that his choices were very unappealing but he conceded and went with Morgan down the street from the library "Where are we going?" Jack asked but Morgan stayed silent. They had been walking for a good few minutes until Jack smelled something "Sniff* Sniff* What is that?" They arrived infront of a small building, Morgan steps through the doors and yells "Molly! The usual please! And something for this... Guy." Jack steps inside and is met with a beautiful smell of freshly baked bread sticks, and a stew that looked immaculate. "What the usual?" "If you're mouth stops frothing then maybe I'll answer"
Jack wipes the foam from his mouth "Good, now sit down." Jack like a lap dog just simply sits awaiting his next command "OK now what?" Jack asked. Morgan looked down at the human and he asks "Why didn't you fight?" Jack looked confused "Why didn't you retaliate? Could you not? What is it? Do you think me weak?" "No its just that, uh I can't" Morgan was pissed at the vague answer "I will ask again. Why?" "I can't do magic" although this wasn't the whole truth, Jack could only do some magic so he wasn't really lying either. Morgan however, felt incredibly guilty "Pl-please forgive me..."
"What why?" "Me and my sister know what it's like to struggle with magic and other things" "It's ok, you didn't know." "But I had a feeling, and I know now." "Here you go Morgan, two orders of Adaline's special stew" Thank you Molly" As Jack was about to ask Morgan why there was two stews, Morgan pulls Jack close and says "From now on. You will work here" "Wait huh?"
