"Are you ready?"
Nikki Emerald whispered in Anna's ears. She had leaned close, staring at her best friend's reflection on the mirror in front of them.
Anna made a face. Will she ever be ready?
Her life was already on a roller coaster and Kristofer Almodiel's confession from two days ago only made things worse.
She didn't know what to make of it. A tiny part of her wanted to believe him. He did seem genuine. When Kristofer Almodiel said those, Anna felt his sincerity. Surely, no one can fake that, right?
She shook her head. Nikki let out a sigh.
"I'd be more surprised if you actually said yes."
"I'm doomed, Nikki."
Nikki gave her friend a pat on the shoulders. She wished she could do something to help her in her dilemma. However, there was nothing she could do for her either.
It was breaking Nikki's heart to watch Anna suffer like this. She was confused and though she won't admit it, scared.
