Chapter 4 - フィンチ

Finch told me she got her name because her mother loved to paint, she loved going to museums. She said her mother loved the painting "The GoldFinch" the most. It sounded so poetic. My name was nothing important, it was bland, and boring. Flavorless. Finch told me that that painting of  a golden finch had lasted for 5 generations. She never told me why she was in uni.

I always hated big rooms, because they were so empty, and I was so exposed.

The living room was something I never really went in, mostly because my mom always passed out drunk on the couch. I decided to leave the couches and the recliners. I cleaned up the trash on the table and the floor, vacuuming the carpet and the couches.

I lifted up the couch cushions and low and behold, there was more things to stab me in the heart with.

There was a bracelet I swore to never look at again until I was dead. I wore it when I was raped.

There's no easy way to lay that news on someone.

It's not a light conversation, you just have to blantly tell someone you've been raped. Flat out and embarrassing. There's no lighthearted way to tell someone that.

Luckily, I never did. I don't think anyone cared enough.

I threw away the bracelet and all the cigarette butts.
