The students were exiting the university building in crowds. It was the end of the day and having completed their class, the majority of the students looked rather tired and exhausted.
A tall man, with a well built body, tucked in formal clothes came out of the staff building. Some students, mostly girls kept darting their eyes in his direction. But he hardly paid any attention to them. He reached his car and unlocked the door.
"Are you going home, Ryan?" he heard a female voice from behind. He turned to look at her. A slim and fairly pale skinned woman with loads of makeup on her face and very much exposing clothes for college stood in front of him.
"Where else would I go, Annalise?" he asked, slightly irritated by the unwanted visitor. It is not like he was a short tempered man. But he simply could not tolerate a few people, for example, the woman in front of him. She is Annalise Davis. She works as a non teaching staff at the university. But to Ryan's disappointment, she also happens to be his girlfriend Julia Adams' best friend. He has no idea how on earth Julia is even friends with this annoying creature.
"I assumed you would go to your girlfriend," Annalise said and then continued her words without giving him any chance to speak, "You are coming to the club in the evening right?"
Ryan simply gave her a nonchalant nod and hopped into his car and drove away. He was not in the mood to deal with her and she did not deserve any precious time of his.
Ryan Anderson is a Business and Finance professor at the University of California. He was hot and happening as his young female students described him. But he was also a no nonsense kind of person. He does not tolerate fake people. He never has.
At 33, Ryan had a rather peaceful life going at a good pace. He had a secure job that paid him well to keep up with his lifestyle and a girlfriend by his side. He surely had everything to get married and settle down. But he had no plans of doing it anytime soon. He was happy and content with whatever he had now.
Ryan drove his car towards his home. As much as he belonged to a modern generation, he was still old fashioned at heart. Even at this age, he preferred to stay with his parents and had no plans of moving out anytime in the future. He wanted to have one strong and big family. As soon as he got the job at the university, he loaned out and got a bigger house that could fit his parents, himself, and future additions to the family. His parents could not be any more prouder of him.
Ryan unlatched the lock and went straight to his room. His parents were out of the state to visit an old friend. So it was only him at home. So… it was okay for him to return home as late as he wishes. His father, William Anderson still expected him to get back home early and spend time with family before they all go to bed. It's not like Ryan did not like it, but he did want to go out and have a rebellious night once in a while. So now was his opportunity since his parents were not at home and it was also a weekend. Time to go wild!!
He took a quick shower and got in fresh jeans and a T-shirt and a solid black jacket. He styled his hair with light gel and he was good to go to the club that his friends had planned to visit today. His gang consisted of his closest friends since school and university days, Logan Wilson and Alan Thomas. While Logan worked as a head of HR at a leading investment company, Alan was a pediatrician. He was pretty well with kids.
When Ryan entered the club, it was already packed and it took him four good minutes to reach the table where his friends were seated.
"What up, boy, you have come out to drink today?" Logan teased Ryan.
Ryan looked at Logan who was now drowning the drink in his mouth and then he turned to look at Alan, he was sheepishly smiling at Ryan. He shook his head and took a seat.
"Your parents aren't home yet?" Alan asked.
"No. And I have no idea when they will return." Ryan ordered drinks for himself.
"Good for you, my boy," Logan said ordering more drinks.
"How much more drinks do you need? We have not been here for more than half an hour and you are already reeking of drinks," scolded Alan who was comparatively sober than Logan. The buddies had arrived earlier than Ryan and had already begun their clubbing rituals; little dancing and drinking and ogling at ladies.
Logan pouted like a child, "Come on, Alan. Don't be a spoilsport. We have met up after a month. So we should drink in loads and go wild." It was the truth indeed. Being an adult was not easy. Especially, men in their early thirties had a lot of things going on in their lives. For example, their parents bugging them to get married and settled down.
"Drinks okay, but no going wild," warned Ryan and Alan agreed to it by nodding his head.
"Whatever," Logan turned to the waiter, "More and more drinks." He winked at the waiter. The waiter chuckled at him and went in to get their drinks. Getting drunk and going wild was on the agenda so who is going to stop Logan.
