Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Noah

I'm coming for you, said a voice. The voice sounded as if multiple people were talking, and it was raspy. Almost as if he had just woken up. I jumped alarmingly and looked around to see where the voice was coming from.

"What are you doing?" Faith asked concerningly.

"That voice. Did you hear it? It said, 'I'm coming for you'," I said. Faith turned pale.

"You heard it too? How did you hear it? He's only been speaking to me all this time and now you? Oh, no. Does that mean…" she trailed off. Although she didn't finish, we both knew what she meant. He was probably coming for me too.

"But why? I mean, what's the point in killing me? I didn't do anything!" I yelled in frustration. Faith took my shoulders.

"Relax," she said. I took and deep breath and sat down. "He's probably coming for you as well because you're important to me. When Brandon captured me, he first met me at the mall. I didn't know he was evil. He just acted so kind, anyone could've been fooled," she started. I cut her off.

"It isn't your fault! He started acting weird a few months ago, I should've known something was going to happen. It's m-" I cut off, seeing Faith glaring at me so hard, I swear I saw fire in them.

"Don't you dare say it's your fault. It's Brandon's fault, not yours. And let me finish. He asked me if we were, you know, really close. Of course, I didn't know he was evil, so I said yes. ," she said. I took another deep breath. I nodded. She was right. It was Brandon's fault. He chose the evil side, not me. Then I realized. He's probably coming for you as well because you're important to me. I smiled. She did love me.

"Well? Are we just going to sit here and let me die?" She said, snapping me out of my thoughts. She's right. You forgot. I thought you loved her, my inner voice said.

"Hush." I realized I accidentally said that out loud.

"What?" she asked. My face burned.

"U-Uh, nothing. Nothing. Just, um, my thoughts. You know…" I stumbled. She started cracking up. My eyebrows scrunched up. "Hey! Stop laughing at me!" I protested.

"I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing because of you," she argued.

"What's the difference?" I argued back. She rolled her eyes. Then I remembered. "Hey!" I shouted. She looked at me.

"What?" she asked, exasperated.

"You didn't get your clothes yet!" I said. Her eyes brightened. I called Penny.

"DID SHE DIE?" Penny yelled in my ear. I laughed.

"No, she's here. She got hurt, but I fixed it. Anyways, can you take her shopping? Her clothes are a little old-fashioned, so people might get suspicious. And-" I got cut off by Penny.

"I'M COMING RIGHT NOW!" Penny squealed. I guess she screamed because Faith was almost jumping out of her seat of excitement.
