A/N: Chapter dedicated to artkitty_dee, enjoy!
"You were always a bit too overwhelming..."a voice said.
"I was just being truthful"another voice whispered.
"Look where that landed her! She's unconscious"the first voice said almost yelling.
These voices were whispers which echoed about the hospital room walls.
Rosey was slowly regaining her consciousness, her eyes feeling heavy.
She blinked twice, trying to adjust to the brightness of the room.
The bickering woke her up fully from her semi unconscious state.
"Lily..."
Lily turned her head and stared directly at Rosey.
Daniel took notice of Rosey's consciousness and proceeded to check her vitals.
"Am okay, just a little light headed"Rosey said, shooing him away.
Lily gave him a Stern look, he put his arms up in defeat, winning against them was impossible.
"Where is my mom?"she asked, Lily looked at Daniel then at Rosey.
"Well..."
"She's with the discovery as we speak"Daniel said in a cryptic tone.
************
Rosey was discharged in an hour, she spent most of the time with Lily answering all her questions.
"Is he hot?"she asked.
Rosey rolled her eyes.
"How does that relate to archeology?"she asked.
"Is he?"she asked pretending not to hear what her elder sister said.
"You'll just have to see him for yourself"Rosey said.
Daniel came in without knocking, Rosey had been expecting him.
"Can I?"Rosey asked.
"The first lady will see you now"he said.
Rosey hesitantly stood up, without any aid and made her way out of the room, leaving both Lily and Daniel alone together.
Two security guards escorted her to her mother's room, she sent them away and went in.
The inside seemed a bit more lively, Acker had observed how dead it looked before.
Her mind flashed to Acker, she wanted to know how his talk, confrontation with her mother turned out.
He hadn't eaten, she was eager to know if he was getting sleep and food.
She took some steps, still staring at the person on the bed, in the best state she had ever seen her.
"Um....Hi..."
"So weak" Rosey thought to herself.
"Rosey come closer and give me a hug!"her mother said, filled with love.
Rosey had always had the phobia that if she squeezed her mother, her mother would pop.
But now, she had gotten the go ahead.
She didn't think twice, she ran to her mother, minding the tray of medicine on the bed.
She hadn't felt this warm sensation in quite a long while.
They stayed in that intimate position for what felt like an eternity.
Till Rosey had to break it up, she had Acker on her mind as well.
"What's wrong?"Her mother asked.
"Nothing, nothing could ever go wrong again"Rosey said.
She wiped a tear from her cheek.
"Oh...Rosey... you're just so cute!"her mother said.
Rosey smiled, she sat beside her mother, trying to find a way to ask.
"I just can't believe you're here, no surgery, no meds, just you"Rosey said.
Her mother had blonde hair, but cancer deprived her of that, what was left was scanty and sickly.
But now, it had grown overnight and she looked fresher, younger...
"I thought I'd die during surgery, but I didn't, and am so glad I didn't"her mother said.
Rosey held her hand, not wanting the moment to fade away, just like in her dreams.
"This is real"her mother reminded her, using her thumb to stroke her daughter's knuckles.
"I know" the room fell silent.
Only their heartbeats were heard.
"I met someone"her mother said breaking the ice.
"He's an odd one, but he's a hottie, Lily would like him, am told he's dangerous, but I know she has a thing for that kind of thing"
Something made Rosey feel bad, hearing her mother like Acker for her younger sister.
"He's not like the rest, I can sense it"her mother said.
"How?"Rosey asked.
"That's just it! I saw him and felt something warm course through my veins"her mother said.
Rosey knitted her brows.
"I don't understand you"Rosey said getting worried.
"I don't know myself, I just walked in, not knowing what to expect from the man who was with me last before I woke up.
I thought I'd meet a dangerous drug dealer, but I met someone...
His name...Acker"
"He smiled at me, and told me that he was apart of me now"Lucy(Rosey's mother) said.
"What!"Rosey said in shock.
"The odd part was that...he's right"Lucy said landing a bomb on the conversation.
"He told me that I should not let my illness rule my life and choices, he told me I was beautiful, not just outside but inside as well.
He told me that life was a gift, that we should not treat it with disrespect"
Rosey knew by interaction she did meet with Acker.
"I want to see him again"her mother said.
"I have a connection with him, I know it"her mother said.
"You will see him again"Daniel said interrupting their conversation.
"Am getting him released, I know that there is no logical explanation for what happened, but I could learn the illogical one"Daniel said.
"What about my...the president?"Rosey inquired.
Her mother's grip tightened once Mr Red was mentioned.
"I was able to sweet talk him into letting me have him for myself for a while"Daniel said.
"What! You're just giving him what he wants! You're so selfish sometimes..."
"Are you finished?"Daniel asked dryly.
"You two are still the same"she heard her mother mumble.
She dismiss it and faced Daniel.
"You will have the honour of housing him, feeding him and bringing him here everyday for me to study"Daniel said.
Rosey lost her tongue for a moment.
"How?"she asked.
"I just told him about his wife's miraculous recovery, and explained how Acker had already formed a bond with you"Daniel said.
"I also said I'd come over for dinner next week"he added swiftly.
"Thank you!"Rosey said and hugged him.
Her mother coughed.
They both rolled their eyes, Lily walked in.
"Holy..."
"Language!"all three of them chorused.
Lily ran to her mother and crippled her with kisses.
Yes Lucy still had cancer, but she was better, much more lively and better looking.
"You'd better go find Acker and get him to bed, some security will have to accompany you though"Daniel said.
Rosey stared at him.
"They will stay two houses away, that was Mr Red's condition"Daniel said.
"Seems like you have my father eating out of your hands"Lily said.
Daniel smirked at her, Rosey stared at them both, but her mind was focused on finding him.
She stayed for no longer than two minutes, she ran out to go meet him.
He was supposed to be at the parking lot, she had the book in her hand.
She found it in her mother's room, and was grateful no one else found it.
She could hear some voices in the distance.
"Unhand me!"the voice said in protest.
She had memorized that voice too well.
"I left my book inside, it's very important, I must get it"he said.
Rosey held unto the book smiling broadly, she walked in on the conversation.
"If you do not let me..."Acker was cut off by Rosey stepping in, holding his book.
"You're in good shape!"he exclaimed.
Her heart warmed up at that statement.
Acker stretched forth his hands and took the book from her grip and kissed it.
Her heart sunk immediately.
"You should marry it then"she muttered to herself.
"You can leave us, I'll drive"Rosey said.
The security entered the car behind them.
Rosey stared at Acker critically.
He looked weak, and exhausted, she noticed some eye bags.
"Please stop that"she heard.
"Stop what?"she asked interested, she got into the car, Acker reluctantly entered.
"You're staring, it is making me uneasy"he openly said.
Rosey felt embarrassed.
"Don't get excited, we have bigger fish to fry"she said.
Acker stared at her clearly confused, she started the car and drove off.
She felt glad that he was okay and back with her, she was starting to over worry.
"How are you? I knew you fainted"Acker said.
"Am okay, happy even"Rosey said, her smile evident.
She looked at the car following them with the rear view mirror.
"Why are those men in uniform escorting us?"Acker asked.
"They will be keeping an eye on you"Rosey said.
"But that's what you do"Acker protested.
"Are you not enough?"he asked.
"You....it's a long stage, it's not as easy as it sounds"Rosey tried to explain.
"Is it? I didn't know, I don't know"Acker said.
"It's just complicated"she said.
And an awkward silence followed suite.
"Your mother is a good person"Acker said.
"Yes"Rosey said in agreement.
"I felt bad that I wasn't allowed to fully heal her"Acker said.
"Fully?"she inquired.
"When I said I had a connection with your mother I was not just babbling nonsense"Acker said.
Rosey kept quiet to hear what he would say to her.
"Rosey, my blood runs through her veins, we're tied now"Acker said with a serious tone.
