"At least say where we are going"Acker said to her, she had been driving for an hour.
"To civilization"she groaned.
"What!"he yelled.
"You...You traitor!"he yelled and took the book.
Without thinking he pushed open the door and jumped out.
The huge gush of wind from the outside, distracted Rosey and caught her off guard.
She quickly took control and parked the car.
She jumped out, and turned to find Acker, he was on the middle of the road.
He had bruised his hand.
"Acker!"she called out, running towards him, he stood up and started to run away.
She ran back to the car and drove after him.
"He just ate a burger, he won't get far"she said to herself, taking a short cut to cut him off.
She didn't need the shortcut, he was already by a tree, panting for breath.
"What is making me so tedious?"he asked, sweating profusely.
"Burger and fries"she said.
"How can something so little weigh the same size as a boulder?"he asked.
Rosey got out of the car and stood close to him.
"Are you going to take advantage of my state and hand me over?"he asked her.
She stared at him in perplexion.
"If that is what you are thinking, be informed that I can be very difficult"he said.
"Calm down, am not going to do that or turn you in. Am going back to do something very important"she said.
"How can I trust you?"he asked her.
"I think I deserve a little of your trust, I hid you from the cops, went into hiding, bought you a meal, stole a car for you..."
"Am aware of your favours"he cut in.
"I just...I discovered that my mother is very sick...I just want to see her before she dies"she said.
"Why do you believe that she's going to die?"he asked.
"The odds are not in her favor, she's not doing good"she said.
"Death mustn't always come to mind, death isn't when a person passes, it's when their soul fades.
If you treat her like she's already dead, then what good is that?"he asked.
Rosey looked away, knowing he had a point.
She looked at his hand, it was all better.
Then a thought popped into her head.
"Acker, could you heal my mother?"she asked him full of Hope.
*********
Daniel and his medical team all had a mandatory emergency meeting before the surgery.
"Doctor Daniel, we've gone through the final autopsy, she might not make it through the transplant"a fellow doctor said.
Daniel had known that already, and he was planning on putting the surgery on hold because of the final autopsy.
"If she doesn't get it, she might not see the next weekend"a female doctor said.
"It's better to live three days than three minutes"a voice argued.
"She has a chance to live a longer life, she has to have this surgery"the female doctor argued.
"We cannot gamble with her life like that"
"We can't deny her a chance!"
"It's enough! Let's all go, make some last minute research and meet back here in ten minutes"Daniel Said.
"Daniel, running away will not solve the problem"an elderly doctor said.
Daniel knew he was the person to make the last call.
He had to choose, either letting her have the surgery or not.
The family was supposed to have this choice, but Rosey was on the run, Lily was just too young and he knew whatever family left was uninvolved.
"We meet here in ten minutes"he stressed, and left them to converse more.
He went into the bathroom to wash up, he hadn't called Lily back.
Mrs Red was walking on eggshells, only a miracle could do something for her.
***********
Rosey parked the car, she stopped by a shop and bought new clothes.
She made Daniel wear a sweat shirt and sweatpants.
She put on a hoodie and some thight jeans.
She walked by the sales girl quickly, pulling Acker along.
The green complimented his eyes so well.
"Rosey, where is she?"he asked as soon as they arrived at the hospital gates.
"Inside"she said.
"How do we penetrate?"he asked.
"Don't you have a spell in that book of yours?"she asked him.
"Do you want me to use old wisdom to solve a problem of the modern day?"he asked.
She rolled her eyes.
"Do you have a spell?"she asked.
He nodded negatively.
"I haven't had this book for a long time"he said.
They decided to go in normally, she made him cough while they walked.
The hospital was filled with security guards, all for the first lady.
Rosey knew that getting in would need a...
She looked behind her to notice Acker had wandered around the hospital.
She looked panicked and called out softly.
"Acker..."she called, trying to blend in with the crowd.
She lost her cool, it seemed like the one way to her mum had vanished.
She saw Daniel and adjusted her hoodie, she walked by quickly, his shoulders collided with hers.
Pushing her back.
"So sorry"he said and held both her shoulders.
As fate would have it, her hoodie fell backwards, revealing Rosey.
Daniel blinked thrice, before he could fully process the identity and react, she noticed a security guard staring at her immensely.
She pushed him away and ran as fast as she could.
"Rosey!"Daniel called out, all the other security ran along with him, Rosey knew she was going to either get caught or get hurt.
But a hand pulled her and she landed inside a laundry cart, filled with hospital gowns.
She looked above her to see Acker.
"Wha..."
"Shhhh!"
He pushed the cart away, walking past the perplexed guards.
Once he was away from them, he pulled a gown up to let Rosey breathe.
"Are you okay?"he asked her.
"Thank you"she said.
"Are they the evil ones?"he asked gritting his teeth.
"There! This is the room"Rosey said, she knew her mother's room.
With the help of Daniel she got out of the cart and stood in front of the door.
She placed her palm on the sensor and was granted access.
Once inside, she led Daniel to her mother's bedside.
Daniel took a good look at the room, it seemed dull, lifeless...empty.
"How can a person live here?"he asked with sorrow in his tone.
"Acker, focus"she said to him.
He stood in front of her, and held her hair, it looked so scanty.
"She has a disease called cancer"Rosey said.
"Please, help her"Rosey said.
Acker stared at her, then at himself.
He placed his hand on her stomach and let it rest there for a while, she could see some glowing light.
His veins shone, her mother's veins popped out, shining as well.
He closed his eyes, and she could hear panths from her mother.
Acker equally panted, taking deep breaths, the doors bursted open and three security guards filled in.
They pinned Acker against the floor and one grabbed Rosey by the elbow.
"No! Stop!"she yelled at them, as they tazered Acker, trying to make him pass out.
He looked drained somehow from what he was doing and couldn't fight back.
The book he had was tossed to a side, Rosey struggled to get out of the tight hand that gripped her.
The police tazered him till he passed out, some blood dripping out of his nose.
"No! Let him go!"Rosey yelled while he was taken away in handcuffs lifeless.
"Please!"she yelled, a tear trickling out of her eye.
