Chapter 143 - Chapter 6.2: Rock Star

All the sludge and waste rose into the air, swirling with the black and blue flames. Even the excrement that covered Santos, from head to toe flew off, and for a fleeting moment, he was clean.

It was only fleeting.

Beelzebub roared, as the sludge surrounded him, giving him new appendages. His arms and legs glowed black and blue, and his short hair was lit up in demonic flames. Still hanging upside down, the sludge twisted and formed.

The giant made of refuse stood upside down, on its hands, and the legs extended into the sky. Pieces of it dropped onto Santos, and his few seconds of being clean were over.

Now with cleaner wings, he could fly faster, and ran, naked, through the wet ground, and took off into the sky. Beelzebub opened his mouth, and blue flames spewed forth, his voice screeching like a reptile.

Swooping and swerving, Santos knew that he had to somehow use the same attack he had done before, but worried that Beelzebub had already seen his trick before. He wouldn't let Santos rest, shrieking, and spitting out black and blue hellfire as he narrowly dodged the curling flames.

There were no appendages to use against Beelzebub, unlike Danas. The barbs he had used were now mixed into his grotesque new limbs. Beelzebub walked, upside down, towards Santos. He was slow, not wanting to unfurl his golem of trash from moving too fast.

A large hand made its way for Santos, and in a split second, he decided brute force would be best to make it out alive. He sang again, not caring how ridiculous he looked, naked, covered in trash, and shouting.

There was no such thing as sane down there.

He nosedived towards the hand, and smiled, getting to sing once again, his curse no longer hurting but helping him.

~Begin your power!

The hand exploded and Santos flung his arms out, wide as it all flew back, absorbing him into the slime.

~Go!

He pushed out of it, eyes burning, and he made another hole in its arm. It healed again, using more trash to fill in the hole, and Santos, tried again, hoping that he could find another opening like last time.

~Behold!

He swooped down low, rubbing his fingernails across the ground as he weaved through the hand's fingers, exploding as he sang, flying faster and faster.

~You're a master of the music!

He flew, right through the right hand's fingers that were holding the monster up. It couldn't regenerate its hands fast enough, and it fell over to the ground. Like a building, it slowly fell downwards, its shadow expanding as it came down onto him.

Beelzebub roared, more flames spouting forth, and Santos swerved through the fire and flames. He spun, flying while on his back, and continued his chorus of death.

~All that sparkles is gold.

Tearing through the middle, he didn't have to flap his wings harder, the soundwaves pushing him faster, the speed exhilarating and unbinding him. Only when singing was, he free, only when singing was who he was meant to be.

Santos turned, and swerved, coming back the way he came, and hoped that Beelzebub wouldn't spout flames as he pushed himself back, ass first, towards him. Again, he curled his body into a ball and pushed himself out with another shout.

Separating the slime, the trash erupting in the air, cutting up his skin, he hit Beelzebub, tearing off his right arm. Releasing another earth-shattering scream, the prince of Hell's trash golem fell apart, and it collapsed onto the ground.

He made a clean shot unlike last time, and when he started to come back down, Santos opened his eyes, unfurled his wings, and sailed back down, for his favorite line. Beelzebub was not given his title as a gift, he was one of the first to fall, and would not be killed by a lesser being.

He would not die by the hands of an angel too stupid to take a side during their divine war, a loser.

Never.

Outstretching his left arm, a tsunami of sludge poured out, and Santos laughed, no longer thinking clearly, the madness around him muddying his common sense. Fear was a natural reaction to the horrors around him, but now, he feared nothing, as victory was within his reach.

Spinning to the left, and turning his head to the right, Santos roared, and he spun, faster, turning into a black blur. He spun, drilling through the waves of slush and trash, and they flew out, scarring the ground, leaving deep edges into it, as he spun erratically, aiming for anything.

He slowed down and looked down at Beelzebub, his mirage gone.

Beautiful like the others, even in his true form, he was somehow grotesque in his perfection. Santos took a sharp turn, and fell down, glaring at the monster who was consumed by his own pride, stupid enough to join a losing side.

Beelzebub's face changed rapidly, as gorgeous faces all flashed, all afraid, and they shone, letting out a soft blue glow, as Santos got up to his face, and finished his song.

~Comets alone shatter the frame.

A piercing noise started, and it got louder and louder, as Beelzebub's perfect face exploded. His blood sparkled, shiny and gold, and greedily Santos grabbed his corpse, never one to pass up a chance on getting the good stuff.

Fangs bared, all restraint gone into the putrid wind, Santos dug into Beelzebub's arm, moaning, and shuddering as it gushed into his mouth, and spilled onto his naked body.

Ignoring the piercing noise as it ruptured his eardrums, savoring the moment, the taste was nothing like anything he had in his life. It was better than the elixir the Watchers forced upon him, to turn him into a monster.

It was all he wanted right there, his gluttony overpowering him. Nothing else mattered if he could get high. The third circle of Hell broke apart around him, and Santos was more concerned about eating something that somehow tasted worse than eating animal blood.

After draining half of his blood, and starting to come back down, Santos noticed that the sky was fading. It was pure white. The ground shook, and the plateaus across the land fell, as the ground collapsed with it.

Santos looked at Beelzebub's corpse, and then knew he had to make a hard decision again. Leave the best meal he ever had and fly as fast as he could to the vault, narrowly making it out alive.

He decided to bring it with him.

Holding onto Beelzebub's remaining arm, Santos flew as fast as he could, the ground beneath him fading away, refusing to let go of his meal. Realizing that he wouldn't make it to the dried-up lake before everything crumbled away, Santos used his reliable trick.

Grasping onto the corpse tightly, Santos let out a loud shout, and it pushed him right into the lake, littered with organs and slime. He let go of Beelzebub long enough to only push the wheel by one of its bars.

Santo's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and he nodded, as with a little push, the wheel spun on its own. The golden vault door swung wide open, and Santos grabbed his trophy.

He leaped into the abyss, and the world around him disappeared.
