The wind that pelted against my face as Cain sped down the empty road smelt of salt. The sea was hidden from view by the road dividers although I could hear the prominent crash of the waves. I shut my eyes and thought back to the last time I visited the beach as the sea breeze blew past.
It felt like a long time ago, but at the same time... it felt like the only constant thing in both this world and my own world. I flutter my eyelids open, stealing a glance towards the driver seat as I felt a smile tugging on my lips.
He made it happen. I mean, sure anyone could have brought me to the beach but... no one I've met so far has made me feel as comfortable as I felt when I'm beside him like right now.
Cain glances over to me, he squeezes my thigh reassuringly before shifting his focus back onto the road. I lean back in my seat as my gaze lingered on the dividers that pass by in a hypnotic line.
