Flashback - The day before the day of entrance exam
Just as Sean had completed an intense workout in the training arena which was in the city he saw a person standing under a tree come out while clapping. Sean just looked at the person without any expression while asking himself 'What is she doing here?'.
It was none other than Carmella Rothschild and she had come here alone without her Vice president accompanying her. Sean could sense the presence of her guard hidden on another tree while hiding his Qi. "Miss President, how can I be of help to you" asked Sean.
"Have you thought about the offer I gave you the other day at the cafeteria?" asked Carmella for which Sean said "Like I said the other day Ms.President, I am not yet a student of the Academy. I'll think about it after I join the Academy".
Sean who had just finished giving his answer but felt chill on his spine as he received a cold look from Carmella. Sean was shocked as he had deduced Carmella was a soft hearted woman from his talk at the cafeteria as she never really tried to be oppressive or commanding with him when she made the offer before everyone. But now her expression is cold and her attitude was commanding and oppressive and she had a look of disdain as if she expects others to listen to her commands.
'How dare he reject my proposal twice. I am already giving you enough face by coming here personally. If it was not for that bitch of a childhood friend I wouldn't even care to recruit this guy ' thought Carmella while looking at Sean.
'Shit, this bitch is two faced. I doubt even her closest allies knows her true self' shouted Sean inside his mind as he quickly changed his face into a flattery smile and said "But, Ms.President doesn't have to worry. If Ms.President feels that I am capable of filling the position as a member of student council, I would gladly accept the opportunity".
After hearing my reply Carmella finally eased her expression a bit while saying "Well right now I don't need you to do anything difficult. In a few days time I would send Lucy to officially recruit you and will ask you these same questions. You will answer them like you did just now. In other words this meeting between you and me never happened. You will be paired up with Lucy and you will monitor her every action and relay them to me".
Sean who heard this nodded with a confused expression while thinking 'Why would she ask me to do this? I am a new guy here. Something like this should have been asked towards her trusted aid. '
Sean watched her move away from the training arena as Sean too proceeded to move out to have his breakfast.
Time skip: Flashback- After Lucy finished visiting Carmella to report the success of the mission and on the way towards Southern part of the city :
At Lucy's apartment: Just as Sean lied down on the sofa after finishing his body enhancement and subsequent training within the arena of the system, Sean heard knocking sound from the door and it was different from the ones Lucy and Sean agreed upon. Sean pointed his gun at the gap of the door as he slowly opened the door, just enough to make out the figure at the opposite side of the door.
It was a Carmella who was dressed in an exquisite purple robe. Sean opened the door wide for her to enter in. After she and Sean sat on the sofa Carmella got straight to the point as she spoke " I have a mission for you tonight. I will send a couple of my men to visit this place masqueraded as the city enforcers. She won't be able to feel anything suspicious as currently the entire city is crawling with the enforcers. They will enter this place to conduct a search and go towards the back door to unlock it. Two teams of four Mercs will be in this mission. The first team willl conduct a fake search while hiding inside each room to attack and the second team will be on standby mode towards the rear exit and provide support in case things get dangerous. Once they are in position, the captain of the Mercs will initiate the attack and while she fights you will kill her from behind. In other words you will be the X-factor, the surprise element which Lucy will not expect. Make sure to kill her and destroy this place. We don't want any investigation conducted by the real enforcers on Lucy's death".
Sean was shocked by the sudden turn of events. In his opinion Lucy was extremely loyal towards Carmella and is also extremely talented and respected by her peers. To kill her without any reason was nothing but a waste of talent. Just as he was thinking about why Carmella was asking him to kill Lucy his eyes suddenly widened while his thought process stopped at 'Extremely talented and respected by her peers'. 'Wait a minute, if I am not wrong most of the Mercs were either on direct contact with her or receive strategies to be followed while performing their missions and Carmella on the other hand only shows her face during giving missions or payment of money. In other words they don't have any impression on Carmella apart from her being their boss. This was very common with even the kings. In order to win wars they need talented generals, however if the general is too talented, the soldiers generally tend to listen to orders of the general rather than the king. This is akin to loosing control over one's army. In this case Lucy became the overly talented general and made Carmella feel threatened by her presence as she had started gaining more control over the employed Mercenaries of Carmella. This was her plan all along. She planned to kill her by creating a perfect circumstance and this is the perfect circumstance. An ambush could be created by Carmella with Lucy stuck all alone amidst enemies. The most worst of all, I would have been a sacrificial pawn had I not shown her my talent. Looks like I need to be careful in showcasing my talent'. Sean just nodded his head expressing his understanding to Carmella while inwardly feeling repulsed by her.
It didn't take long for Sean and Carmella to go through the plan and Carmella went back to her mansion once the brainstorming session was over.
Flashback over
Currently inside Lucy's apartment-
Just as the captain moved his hands towards her dress to strip her off, he felt a graze on his face followed by a hole in the wall. Both the captain and Lucy were stunned in silence.
"Back the fuck out or the next time it would be your head which has the hole. I am not here to watch your sick fantasies. I am here to kill the target and complete my mission" said Sean as he slowly walked towards Lucy who continued to watch his face with despair and hatred on her eyes.
Sean went towards Lucy and pointed his gun aiming at her forehead and said "Sorry about this" and winked at her before pulling the trigger. Her head was pushed back from the pressure caused by the bullet and blood was flowing from her forehead. Lucy's body slanted on the ground as she stopped moving. Sean bent down to check her pulse and got up after the check and said "Mission completed. Let's go, we will burn this building and retreat back to the central area, to the mansion of Ms.Carmella" said Sean with a smile and moved quickly to burn the house along with the Mercs who listened to his orders out of fear. The captain was both pissed and embarassed but did not dare to show it for the fear of his life.
Soon the house started burning as smoke was starting to be visible from the gaps of the window if one saw it from the outside.
Within the house the fire moved as if it had a life on its own and it burned only the kitchen, room, the pathway leading to the backdoor except the living room. However smoke filled the living room and soon sounds of cough was heard as the supposed dead Lucy moved her body while groaning as she said "Am I not dead? "
