'Student Council Office'
"Well, I'll be moving. I need to make a few purchases to restock my inventory for the rest of my journey to the capital. I'll meet you at your mansion in the evening" said Cornelia standing up from her seat while preparing to move out of the President's office.
"Wait a moment, you are going without any guards?" asked Carmella while making a worried expression.
"What are you worried about? I myself am strong enough, much less I travelled from my city to here without any problem. Furthermore do you really think I don't have guards. My most trusted guards were trained by my father and have been guarding me from when I was a kid from the shadows. I don't like being surrounded by guards all the time, not to mention it's stuffy and attracts a lot of attention, I also feel like l don't have much privacy" said Cornelia and turned around to walk out of the room.
"Big sister Cornelia, please reconsider. If it is too much to have many guards around you, atleast have 2 guards. Even if You don't need any protection, they could atleast help you in the shopping and most importantly from Artemis city to Golem city there are only small cities or forest. However in here you would be recognised as there are many people from medium and Large clans. Even if your enemies won't use their Trump cards to make their move within the city, they could always send capable opponents to test water and try to know the amount of forces you have hidden to an approximate number. The last thing I want is to have the future Queen of Arcadia Kingdom injured under my protection" said Carmella who in order to make Cornelia rethink her decision, called her 'big sister' to attack the soft side of Cornelia.
Though Cornelia could see through her plan, she was happy that Carmella called her 'Big sister' like in the past and smiled while saying "Alright, I don't want to make things difficult for you. Two guards, that's my limit".
Carmella started thinking about whom to choose to guard Cornelia. 'If it was in the past, I would have had Lucy do such jobs. Now I don't have such Luxury anymore. I don't have someone as skillful as her. Even now sometimes I feel like I killed her way too early. It feels like I made myself handicapped. I am stacked with work these days that I could hardly take rest' thought Carmella, however she stopped herself while saying to herself 'Don't go there Carmella. Though it might have been early, but if I hadn't removed an Xfactor like Lucy early, it would have been late afterwards. Even now I almost lost lost control of 30 to 40% of my forces'. As Carmella was having her inner monologue suddenly a face came to her mind. 'If I am not wrong Lucy said that Sean was exceptionally good at killing. During the mission of Sapphire restaurant slaughter he had killed many level 6 and level 7 warriors. He also has many unique weapons at his disposal. It might be a good opportunity to test him and this could be his learning curve, anyways I need to invest in a talent to fill the vacant position left by Lucy in the future'.
Making the decision Carmella took two badges and sent her Qi.
Meanwhile in the Academy Cafeteria Just as Sean finished his lunch, the badge which he had worn inside his shirt buzzed. Figuring that he had been summoned by Carmella, Sean proceeded to leave while saying " I have some work to do. You can go back to class, Danny",
"Hey wait! You are going to skip the first day's class?" asked Danny shocked at his deskmate's actions.
"Well looks like I am" said Sean shrugging and moved out of the cafeteria and walked towards the Student Council Office.
At the same time a girl from Year 5 who was currently surrounded by her friends suddenly felt a vibration in her left breast pocket. Looking at her friends, She made a wry smile while inwardly cursing Carmella for giving her a mission on the first day of the Academic Year. (How did she know that she getting called for a mission? Well she is a combat specialist and one of the strongest amongst to warriors in Carmella's Mercenary troops, barring Lucy and four other monsters including Carmella herself). She gave an excuse to her friends and started walking towards the student council office.
Just as Sean arrived at the Student Council Office door, he saw another girl arriving towards the office. She had green hair which greatly accentuated with her deep green eyes and was wearing a black robe with gold embroidery. The robe was tightly fit in her body greatly enhancing her figure and explosiveness hidden behind her slim legs and arms. 'This woman is strong. No strong is a relative word. It is not a problem of her level as a warrior. Based on the explosiveness hidden behind her sleek figure, my instincts are alerting me to stay on guard against her. In other words she is skilled in fighting. What is she doing here? Was she called by Carmella?' thought Sean but the thinking was not restricted to Sean alone.
The green haired girl stared at the boy who was younger than her and lost interest at first seeing he was only a third level warrior until she gave a closer look to find his body despite being slim was filled with explosive muscles neatly stacked and most importantly she could feel a murderous aura from within his very soul. 'Damn, where did this kid come from and those eyes, they are ferocious. Looks like he had killed many people'.
Sean emitted a natural dormant killing intent from his body which people in this world seem to be sensitive enough to see if they closely observe him. It was because he had killed a lot of people during his past life and this killing intent was in his very soul.
Sean looked away from the green haired girl and knocked on the door leading to student council President's office. While the green haired girl kept staring at Sean until they both heard Carmella's voice asking them to come in and Sean opened the door and allowed the green haired girl to go in first before following her and closed the door behind.
Meanwhile at Faulen clan's city enforcer headquarters, the head of city enforcer's face was solemn after hearing Damien's report. Essentially apart from there being strange holes on the bodies which were found in the VIP suite nothing else could be found as everything was destroyed by fire and there was very little which could be salvaged. "Judging by the way they conducted this entire massacre feels like they are professionals with years of experience in the field. But why would professionals of this calibre do this for money. If money was their motive, they could have attacked Merchants who were passing through the forest rather than taking the risk to kill within the city which has higher risk of getting caught. There is something hidden within this massacre. Money was never their goal. The robbery and the massacre were nothing but a camouflage to hide something underneath them" deduced the head of the enforcer.
"Were they targetting a particular individual" asked Damien. "It is very much possible" said the head of city enforcer while continuing "Investigate all the people were staying on the restaurant that day, particularly the bodies which were found in the VIP suites. Also investigate the people who survived the attack. Regarding the strange wounds on the bodies which were found on the VIP suite, issue a mission for the blackwood family enforcers. This could be a new type of weapon we are dealing with and we could learn its abilities from the experts of the blackwood clan.
Both Damien and Kompos saluted at the head of the enforcer and left the Faulen residence to carry out the orders recieved from the head.
