In central part of the city there was a big mansion with the insignia of Alexander family filled with guards who clearly looked like mercenaries rather than normal guards which a family hires. This was the headquarters of the Alexander family's mercenary as well as the residence of Rutherford Alexander while staying in the Golem city. Like Rothschild family, the Alexander family was also from the capital, Arcadia city and were almost a large clan. Hence they had huge amount of wealth and many mercenary teams in various large cities and Rutherford being one of the top contender for the next position of head of the family also has huge wealth and support from the family.
The mansion has three floors and the entire third floor was occupied by Rutherford. Currently inside the biggest room on the top floor moans and grunts could be heard. The guards outside the main door of the third floor could not hear this due to the sound proof system in the mansion. However they could already imagine what was going on behind the door and were already used to it. As usual Rutherford spent his nights accompanying women who were either from his mercenary team or beautiful women from normal and small families and sometimes even medium class families. While some were willing to spend the night with him hoping to catch his attention and improving their status some were forced to by making threats against their families and some were even stolen from their husbands. As Rutherford was having the time of his night a guard entered the main door leading to the third floor and heard these moans and grunts, hesitated, gritted his teeth and knocked on the door of Rutherford.
"Who is it? Don't you know that you should not disturb me. Scram before I come out and kill you" shouted Rutherford in irritation for spoiling his mood.
"Young Master, Bernard has been missing for the past 2 days. The last he was seen was the day before yesterday evening. Does Young Master know where he is? "
"What? " asked Rutherford in a shocked tone. "Move, bitch" said Rutherford as he pushed the girl who was riding on top of him and moved towards the door after dressing.
Rutherford came out of the room to see a guard bowing before him. "I sent Bernard to Sapphire restaurant to recruit the boy who won the Combat tournament in the entrance test. Did he not come back after that? "
"Sapphire restaurant!! Young master, the day before yesterday night a group of bandits had attacked the Sapphire restaurant. The entire place was destroyed and there were many dead bodies found. The entire city is crawling with enforcers conducting investigation" said the guard clearly distressed by the fact that Bernard was missing and had gone to Sapphire restaurant.
"What!! Why am I hearing this only now" asked Rutherford clearly shocked by this.
"Young master we did not know about Bernard going missing until today afternoon and after checking all the hideouts and asking if anyone had seen him or heard where he had gone, I came to you. We did not want to disturb you incase it was nothing serious and Bernard had gone out on a private matter" said the guard while bowing to Rutherford even more.
"How can there be bandits within the city. Send our men to check the dead bodies to see if Bernard is amongst them" said Rutherford as he started feeling worried. Bernard was his brains and despite using him, Rutherford knew of Bernard's importance to himself.
"I hope he is alive otherwise it will be troublesome to take care of the mercenary. Looks like I need to groom another candidate who can replace or be a substitute of Bernard" thought Rutherford and moved inside his room and shouted "Get lost you bitch. I don't want to see your face now" shouted Rutherford obviously in irritation. He was no longer in the mood to attend to pleasures and just sat in his desk with an anxious face waiting for the news from his men. A blonde woman with a curvy figure scurried out of his room without even trying to wear her robe properly an only when she came to the hallway leading out of the main door of Rutherford's suite did she properly wear her dress. Her whole body was shivering in fear while she was cursing all Rutherford's ancestors in her mind. She was a woman from normal family who was about to get married to her childhood friend, who proposed to her after obtaining a job as a soldier in the Golem city. Unfortunately her happiness did not last long as she was seen by Bernard and he had taken her away in front of her fiancé who could do nothing but watch in despair. She knew that her life was ruined as she could not get married now after being marked by Rutherford.
She moved out of the door to hallway with a face of despair as she slowly made way out of the mansion. However her tragedy had not yet stopped. The other mercenaries who were quite free saw her in a skimpy dress and started moving towards her. "Hey isn't this the woman, Young Master brought to his room? What is she doing here so early?"
"Hehe Young Master probably got tired of her and threw her out of the his room" said another guard
"Lucky, just now I had planned on going to the brothel never thought I would get such a beauty for free" said another guard with a lecherous tone.
The woman who saw this became pale with fright and shouted "Don't Young Master had asked me to come back in a few days".
"Hahaha, Young Master says that to many girls but he would forget about them by tomorrow morning" said a guard and grabbed her hand and dragged her towards a room and said "We will take turns two at a time" as he looked at the guards who nodded impatiently.
"Don't take too much time and don't destroy her. It is boring when we play with a broken toy" said a guard as he saw the woman being dragged to the room while screaming. Her screams didn't last long and was soon replaced by grunts of men. The guards just shook their head and had a lecherous look as they patiently waited for their comrades to finish.
Meanwhile in another mansion within the central part of the city, the middle aged pale looking man and the emancipated boy were currently inside the basement of their mansion. The middle aged man was called Lenin and he used to be the guard captain of the Petrovich family and the boy was called Lucien Petrovich. His mother was the one who had an affair with the captain and gave birth to Lucien. "Dad let's place him on the pentagram" said Lucien as he was already disrobed and ready to perform the blood ritual for the demons. According to the book of Shaman the sacrifice from level 3 warrior would start to double. In other words Lucien had to sacrifice a total of 24 level 3 warriors before he could officially enter as a level 3 Shaman.
The underground hall was as usual filled with weird symbols and diagrams. There was a marble in the center of the hall along with cuffs at all four sides. Lenin placed Albert on the marble and cuffed his hands and legs which spread him apart. Soon Albert woke up after Lucien gave a potion to wake him up. However Albert could not move nor could he feel the movement of his Qi and had a terrified look on his face.
"Who are you? What do you want to do with me?" Asked Albert with a shaking voice. Lucien ignored him and took a knife which was filled with mysterious runes and started chanting in a different language. He had done this ritual many times that he became an expert in it. He slowly moved towards Albert and started making cuts in various parts of his body and drawing blood. Lenin held the bowl and let the blood flow inside the bowl and finally as the portal appeared for the 15th time Lucien gauged Albert's heart out and placed them in the bowl and made an offering to the portal.
Albert had long died the second Lucien drove the knife in his heart with despaired look on his face. Once the offering was made Lucien felt a strange flow of power inside his body which made his demonic Qi increase, though not enough for a level up. "We just need to do this 23 more times for me to level up" said Lucien for which Lenin nodded and said "If We do things slowly and carefully we don't need to worry about getting caught".
"Yes father" said Lucien with a wicked grin on his face.
Meanwhile in the southern part of the city, near Sapphire restaurant, the mercenaries sent by Rutherford were looking at the dead bodies trying to identify Bernard. Suddenly a guy from the team shouted "Oi, isn't this Kevin!!" while looking at a badly burnt corpse. He identified him with the ring he wore in his right hand. Other guards ran towards him and saw the body and the ring. The carving in the ring had a unique design showing the symbol of a snake entwined around a sword.
"Yes, there is no doubt about it. This is Kevin. Though his badly burnt I still can make out some of the features" said another Merc. Looks like he came together with Bernard.
"Excuse me!! where did you find this body" asked a Merc to a city guard.
"In the VIP room" said the guard and continued "Do you know him".
"Yes he is one of our team member. Did you find anyone else along with him? asked the Merc while showing his badge.
The city guard looked at the badge containing the insignia of Alexander family and said "Yes those two were also with him" as he pointed to the dead bodies on the right side of Kevin's dead body which were covered in a white cloth.
The guards hurriedly opened the cloth of those two bodies and saw the image of badly burnt corpse. "This is Andrew. Look he has the scar up on his lips and going towards chin".
"Is this Bernard? Damn he is so badly burnt I cannot even identify him" said another Merc.
"Yeah this is Bernard. Look at the scar on his shoulder" said the Merc beside him an showed a huge cut in his shoulder.
"Fuck, they are all dead. We need to report to Young Master immediately" said the captain of the Merc squad as he talked to the city guards to keep these three bodies separately inorder to claim them afterwards and paid 10 Gold coins to them and looked at his team members and said "You two stay here and watch over them. I will go to Young Master and inform him the news" as he started walking away.
