Chapter Four - Pickwickian
Sweven at that time didn't got the chance to comfront Thylane so he just immediately decided to help her,"Teacher can I gave this assignment papers to Capaldi's house instead" He requested.
"That's weird of you....perhaps are you dating her or you got a crush on her" The teacher teases. "No, I just felt like giving papers to thus who are wounded" Sweven sarcastically said. "Isn't Miss Capaldi sick?" The teacher was confused.
"Wounded inside" Sweven replied and went to Thylane's house. He rang the bell but no one answer that's why he climb onto the gate to get into the house and saw the broken glasses, the stopped clock, messy table, unwashed dishes and a bag.
Just like what Sweven saw in his dream, Thylane was about to leave but his father stopped her. As Sweven gets closer to the backyard, he heard noises, groan to be exact. "Mister don't you know domestic violence and physical abused is a crime!" Sweven said loudly.
"Who are you?!" Thylane father was startled while he grabbed her daughter's hair forcefully. From head to toe Thylane is all beaten up as Sweven came towards them.
"Don't come closer or I'll beat her up!" The man warned.
"I thought you're brave because you use violence bare handedly but I was wrong. You're coward that says obvious things" Sweven said then suddenly grabbed the man's wrist away from his daughter and kick his balls.
"You better get going" He said to Thylane which she nodded in responded and run away.
"Arrghh you son of a b*tch!" The man shouted.
"You're pretty weak from a abusive father" Sweven insulted.
The man boiled into anger and attack him using his fist, Sweven was punched on his cheek but got in track as he replied with a fist too and kick the man's stomach which causes the man to fell down on the ground. "The police is going to fetch you in any minute" Sweven said then turned back to leave.
But in just seconds he felt the hit and pain at the back of his head, he touch it and saw he was bleeding, the man suddenly run to him and hit him with a rock. Sweven turned infront and asked him "Why do you hurt your daughter?".
"Well! that because-"
"His drunk but intentionally doing what he want!" Thylane said out of nowhere which caused Sweven to looked at her as expected she didn't run away because of her father.
"Dad before the police arrest you I just wanted to say that those clothes aren't mine, there are for mom. She left to escaped this miserable life without anything from you and this house so that somehow you will never get mad".
She continued, "You knew I still remain by your side even if you're addicted to gambling, alcohol and many more in life! I thought it's because of alcohol that you hurt me but no; it's because you are mad and wanted to released that by beating me up. You love me but you have forgotten that!".
Silence came after Thylane finished talking, the three of them just stand there doing nothing and without talking, they just stare at each other until the police came.
And that's how Thylane began to admired Sweven so let's get back to the PRESENT where Reverie gave a poster to his little brother sat down on the coach, "That's for a public exhibit on a gallery close to town, the paintings of the famous Sealzicrane Grandeur will be featured there".
"So you're trying to convince me to attend this stuff" Sweven look at her with a blank face."It's for inspiration" She reply back causing Sweven to spout for the first time on how he would think about this matter, "It's not inspiring for a person to paint when he; himself know he destroyed lives than to inspire".
Reverie was stopped for a second when he said that but an idea then crosses her mind, utterly saying "Let's make a deal. If I win you'll be there and If I don't you won't". Sweven didn't see any problem with Reverie's condition so he nodded in response, thinking the consequence that will happen in the near future.
Archery is not a sport that you should start on your own but for Sweven and Reverie, they are pretty used to it because it's rather a hobby than a sport to them.
Claire whom is their older sister prepared everything on the backyard and watches them play archery thoroughly while eating bag of chips because it's her day off today. "You guys sure gonna do this?" Claire asked in reassurance. "We both agreed and theres no turning back on it" Reverie replied looking at Sweven.
"Well that's great cause I'm gonna enjoy this!" Claire cheers up her beer on the afternoon and comfortably sat down on the chair.
They began to determine their dominant eye, pick a bow that matches them and choose an arrow based on their draw length while wearing their protective gears which are the arm-guard, plastic chest protector and finger tap. Reverie start off the deal first by lining her body up the perpendicular to the target.
She have already mastered the fundamentals of archery a long time ago and has practice multiple times with her father. Reverie stand upright and place her feet shoulder width-apart and point her bow down, attach an arrow to the string, use three of her fingers to lightly hold the arrow as she points her bow to the target.
And pulled it's drawstring back toward her face, aiming at the target, releasing the arrow by relaxing the fingers on her string hand. She breathe steadily then when she shoot, it was indeed a fascinating scenario that most of the time people can't see clearly because of the speed.
At her first shot Reverie got a score of ten while Sweven did the same. They continued the game as it ended and Reverie won with the score of perfect 10s four times in a row while Sweven scored eight, nine, nine and ten in a row. If that's how it's interpreted, I maybe learn some archery and already know the things connected to it, Claire thinking in her mind while looking at her siblings.
Sweven gathered his thoughts outside the gallery which made him to remember his dear father.
Sweven's father is a salesman who travels around the world to promote the company's product his been working for. Timothee is a very good father when he discovered Sweven was gifted by a talent and wanted to improve it more, he immediately buy all the things he needed in an artwork.
He watches his son paint, mold, sketch and draw happily until he decided to take his son to a special place during his time in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Van gogh Museum is a dutch museum dedicated to the works and contemporaries in museum square of Vincent Van gogh whom is Sweven's favorite painter.
It is located in Amsterdam south, close to the stedelijk Museum, the rijksmuseum and the concertgebouw. They immediately went there and as they stared at Van gogh's starry night painting, Sweven's father asked "Isn't it quite bright and lively my son?".
"No dad, the colors are stunning but I kept feeling that the brushstrokes are gloomy; like they are struggling, like they're being held back by something....sad" Sweven felt the same emotion while staring at Sealzicrane Grandeur's painting, he had gathered everything to enter the exhibit.
"I called you many times. How can you be in a daze?" A sudden voice approaches Sweven causing him to responded, "I'm sorry. I unconsciously got lost in thought looking at this painting" and looked at the girl beside him.
He was surprisingly shock when he saw Linsey beside him, he couldn't even uttered a word because of his mumbling. "I heard your muttered but don't be embarrass because we each have our own understanding in art" She simply said to him.
"Are you interested in art? Why are you here?" Sweven asked out of curiosity which made Linsey smile, "Of couse, I'am an inspiring painter!". On the look of Sweven's face it seems like he doesn't believe Linsey's words, whom was bothered about it so she tried to convince him by explaining the details.
"This painting! It has Van gogh's style but you can totally tell the difference despite the appeal there having, Sealzicrane's painting was more of realism, the narrow value range within it and most importantly....it's missing something" She uttered.
"Something like happiness right? It's obvious when you look at it clearly but when you just look at the title; you would wonder why it is called like that" Sweven pointed below the painting.
"I'am just a star that will tear others apart"
There's a lot of mystery in once artwork and the creator sometimes doesn't want to explain the meaning behind it or theres no rather meaning because they want the people to find it and that is exactly what Sealzicrane Grandeur wanted, an obviously painting by the eye of it's beholder.
To be continued.
