Chapter 56 - Chapter Fifty_Six: Readiness

"Well he seems to be one interesting being or person," she commented as soon as the door closed to the other room they entered, "He seemed to try to read me and my thoughts but I was at least able to shut him out. What human has such gifts?" she asked,

"Though he can be regarded like father nature in a way, he is just a representative of mother nature when she is too busy to have meetings with other beings. We have grown to get used to him trying to read every one but he's one of those that always seem interested in knowing what he shouldn't and it always causes trouble for himself" Quin said as she began setting up a few things, "Plus you cannot judge him for having gifts as you are also developing gifts and soon powers will come in tune. We just need to see what will irk you or change you into allowing the power to expose itself."

"And how does one figure that out?" she asked as she stepped closer to Quin, trying to understand everything that she was saying. "I am a human and though I learn things that are supposed to be inhumane doesn't mean it isn't strange."

"It isn't strange for a human to have gifts especially since there are many of you on earth that already have access to it. From being able to see the future, to some of you actually being able to read one's pain, to another being able to create magic or call on past lives and so forth. There will always be humans with gifts though it may seem rare same as here, there will always be one or more beings without gifts. Not all receive it." Quin said, then gestured for her to take a seat.

"Each power needs a vessel and at times it takes time to find the perfect vessel that will be able to handle all the power and more. At times it shifts from one to the next to the next, because the more needs someone to become one with you, it also needs someone who can protect it and control because there is always another who wants more than they can handle. Trying to chew off more than they can chew, leaving everyone else to try and fight. Wars are born and someone who seeks peace is always the sacrifice." Quin said as she took a seat in front of her, she snapped her fingers and the maid began to enter with different bowls and jars.

"We can't be having a feast while they stand behind us as if they don't get things to do or they aren't hungry. That won't sit well with me honestly," Aria said as she looked at the servants around them.

Quin snorted and snapped her fingers, different plates were being dished upon and they each took a seat. Holding up their forks and knives in a way that Aria knew very well rich people did. She had taken time to pay attention to them with James when he had constantly taken her out to the posh restaurants and honestly, she hated it.

"As there is an aura with every person, there is obviously also a scent when it comes to food but what people rarely realize is that one can be able to see if food has been poisoned or not. So here is something for you, save a life today without making it obvious to the person that poisoned who's watching that the food has been poisoned." Quin said

"How am I supposed to do that with everyone here, trying to eat and socializing?" Aria asked, dumbfounded at the new lesson, "This is crazy, isn't the food tasted before it comes out anyway? Especially since you host important people here."

"Yes, but things easily change so save a life or watch them die," Quin said easily as she poured herself a glass of water, taking a sip as she nodded and watched the servants begin to talk and pile food, getting ready to eat the food before them. She could smell the fear spreading in the room and she knew that they were all afraid of dying and their hands were in a fate of a human who was still learning.

Aria took a deep breath as she looked around the room, trying to find something that seemed out of place, trying to catch an aura but everything seemed dull and it scared Aria. She couldn't do this and soon she watched everyone begin to eat and then she saw it, a dark smoke. She squinted and before the man could take a bite, he screamed.

Loudly.
