The environment became deafeningly silent.
I did not realise I had such short time with Wei. I didn't have enough time with him to begin with. That time, I felt like an idiot for losing someone who had crawled so close to my heart.
"Zia...?" I was startled to hear my name being called out.
"I am here, Zia," It was Wei's voice that I heard. He was trying to communicate with me calling my name.
I was sure that I was hallucinating him and hearing his voice in my head.
I thought I heard footsteps, but it was actually the sound of shoes. The sound of long striding footsteps approaching me.
I was suddenly wrapped in two strong arms, and I heard Wei reprimanding me "Zia, take a look around you. What happened to you, exactly?"
