"You told Hades where we went?!" Karen hysterically asked her sister-in-law. When Karen and Cronos arrived at the ancestral house of the Clemonte clan, Cronos' sister also just arrived so they were confident that Hades and her haven't talked to each other yet, but while having their breakfast, her sister-in-law told them that Hades was the one who fetch her from the airport last night! And to make it all worst, they talked about the places where Karen and Cronos went!
"Huh? Yeah, I told him, he was asking me about the places where I've went, then he told me that both of you are also looking for places to visit then I told him that you are still in country M, why are you looking for another place that fast? Is there a problem?"
" Cronos! Call your good son immediately!"
" Yes wife, don't be angry" Cronos said while dialling his son's number, but he was blocked! Is his son retaliating? Cronos then called his son's secretary
"Master Cronos" Tom answered
"Where is your young master?" Cronos asked, there was a long silence after that question
"I can't tell master" Tom finally answered
"Is it in country M?"
"Master, please don't make my work harder than it already is"
"So he is in country M now" Cronos firmly believed, Tom didn't deny so it only means it is the truth. Cronos then hang up the phone
"Wife, we're late" Cronos dejectedly said "but look at the brighter side, if Nina and Hades get back together early, there's only a little chance that Nina would be snatched by other pigs" Cronos said trying to make his wife feel a little better
"But what about his punishment because of what he did to Nina?"
"Wife, I'm sure Nina is not the kind of girl who would allow herself to be hurt and not strike back. Let's just see what would happen to them okay?"
"What really is happening here?" Cronos' sister finally can't stand being an audience
"Themis, sometimes I don't know if you are using your mind, don't you noticed that Hades was not close to you bit he still fetched you? Were you not suspicious?" Karen asked her sister-in-law who also happens to be her best friend
"how would I know? You didn't tell me that I should not tell Hades! I think you are the one who is not using her head" Themis retorted back
Then the two continued to diss each other like they were still high-school students. Cronos just kept quiet. One is his beloved wife and the other is his spoiled little sister, better be quiet than be crushed in the middle.
Meanwhile in the hospital, Hades is now reading the lab results of Nina seriously like he is reading a billion dollar contract.
The doctor a while ago who wanted to nag the man who made her patient pregnant looks nervous as she tries to explain the reports to Hades. Nobody told her that a man can actually look like a handsome devil!
"The patient is under too much stress. She needs to rest and avoid doing exhausting work." the doctor summed up her findings
"Okay doctor, thank you" Hades politely said which made Ares' jaw drop, is this really the demon king he knew while growing up? The Hades he knew is not someone who talks politely, and most of all, he doesn't say thank you! What's the meaning of this?! Ares then observed the doctor, well she's kinda pretty but his yucousin has never been a visual person! As far as he knows, his brother can only describe all people as having two eyes, one nose and mouth, so what made his brother change attitude?
Because of thinking too much, Ares didn't notice that his cousin already left him in the corridor to go inside Nina's room.
Hades heart is beating loudly, after days of finding her, finally, he will be able to see her. He doesn't like to look at the pictures of Nina that were included in the reports. He feels that those pictures didn't capture the Nina he has been with that night. He wasn't able to see Nina's face when they spent the night together, and when they bumped into each other he still wasn't able to see her face because her head was down. He only felt it was her so when he saw the pictures, he felt it wasn't her so he didn't continue looking at those. This would be the first time he will see her personally.
He went near Nina's bed and for the first time, he didn't describe a person with only just two eyes, one nose and mouth. What he saw on the bed is like a goddess. Her curly hair was spread out on the bed. Her beautifully arched eyebrows wrinkled which showed her discomfort so Hades tried to straighten it with his fingers without thinking but what he touched was a smooth marshmallow, it was such a good touch. Then he saw Nina's long eyelashes trembling but she didn't wake up. Hades moved his finger from the middle of Nina's eyebrows down her nose when he was about to touch Nina's lips, he stopped. Aside from being distressed at Nina's pale lips, he also felt like a hooligan by touching the girl, who he wants to spend his life with, without her knowing.
Hades used all his self control just to forbid himself from touching. Hades, stop yourself for a while, she's yours anyway. When you get married, you can touch her face even if she's awake so no need to rush. She must be respected even if she's unaware. Hades said to himself
"Brother Hades" Ares realized that his cousin left him in the corridor so he also went inside Nina's room, but before he could say something to Hades, he felt suffocated by the stare of his cousin . What did he do? He already helped his cousin's woman but he would still be stared at like this? Not to mention he still wants to beat the man who made his little sister pregnant but he already decided to let it slide but this, how ungrateful his cousin is?
"Go to your work" Hades said with the tone of saying get lost, but Ares didn't catch what he mean
"Brother I don't have work today, I cancelled all of my schedule because I will help Nina to buy things for her house"
"What did you call her?" Hades dangerously said, this brat calls his future wife by her name? Is he even worthy?
Ares now felt that if he answered wrong, he would be sent somewhere in the desert. Even though this cousin is only 3 years older than him, Ares knew that he is very capable of doing whatever he likes.
"Should I call her sister?" Ares said testing the water, then he felt the suffocating aura disappeared a little
"what are you still doing here?"
"I'm going to accompany Ni-"
"Out or I will be the one to give you work!" Hades impatiently said, he was already burning in jealousy when he found out from Grandma Sol that Nina was with this man the whole day yesterday and now he still wants to be with her? When was he dead?!
"Oh look! I just received a message that I have an urgent case. I'll see you both next time brother!" Ares said running trying to save his dear life.
When Ares was gone, Hades pulled out a chair and sat beside Nina's bed.
Hades now remembered a problem, how is he going to tell Nina who he is? Should he tell that he was the one from that night and also the father of her child? Would that not sound like a scum man? Should he tell her that he will take full responsibility?
Hades is trapped into deep contemplation that he didn't notice the eyes of Nina slowly opening.
"w-water" Nina said, she doesn't care who the person she was asking for water is. She just knew that someone was with her so she asked, and besides she feels so weak and her throat feels so dry to even think of who would give her the water.
She felt someone slowly lifted her and helped her drink the water. She already drank the water and the person who helped her drink put the glass somewhere but she still felt something wrong. Then Nina realized that the person who helped her drink is still at her back and holding her! She's weak, that's why she's leaning on the person, not because she feels so comfortable and she can smell that the person has a calming scent!
Nina then slowly looked at the person holding her then she became stunned. Nina was so confident that she already saw so many handsome men that she will no longer be surprised to see one, but the man she was looking at right now brought the word handsome on a new level.
The man has deep set eyes, paired with sword like thick eyebrows, tall nose,and thin lips. She felt that her descriptions are the common things she used for the other good looking man she saw but Nina can't really point out why she felt the man holding her was so handsome that he can make her heart beat so loud.
"Who are you?" Nina asked, trying to shake off her focus away from her loud heart.
"You don't know me?" Hades was expecting this question from her but he still felt somewhat dejected. He thought that when she found out that they would have a child, she would check the surveillance that night to know who the child's father was, but it seems like she did not.
"How would I know you?" Nina was pretty sure that when she saw a man like the man holding her, she won't forget that. Then she looked around "Where am I?" Did she travel again? Then she remembered that this morning she felt so weak when Ares visited her, she was looking at him while he arranged the food on the table then, everything went blank.
When she realized what happened her first reaction was to hold her tummy. "What happened?" Nina now looks so nervous as she tried to sit properly but the man just held her hand that is holding her tummy which made her sit again leaning at his chest.
"Everything is fine, don't worry" Hades answered, he doesn't know why he felt so soft when he saw what Nina's first reaction was when she realized where she was.
She loves the child, she doesn't blame the child for taking her youth. Hades feels that one of his burdens left his chest. Although the doctor already told him that Nina refused to abort their child, Hades was still afraid that Nina doesn't really like the child and it is just against her morality to remove it. But if ever Nina removes the child, who he is to judge her? She's still young and capable of doing anything and a child that was given to her by a man she doesn't even know might hinder her. He will still look for her even if she did that.
But now, looking at her worried face and shaking hands makes Hades want to keep her by his side to make sure she will no longer be worried and afraid.
"I am Hades Keiro Clemonte and I promise to take care of everything so don't worry, just rest" Hades said
Nina doesn't know why she felt secured on this man's arms. Maybe she was so weak that she felt that anyone who takes care of her would look like a knight in shining armor. Nina didn't know when she fell asleep. This was the first sleep she had without worrying about anything.
Hades just found out how soft Nina's body is. He feels like holding a boneless, squishy stuffed toy and her small hands that are completely covered with his big hand feels so good to hold.
Hades felt that Nina was already asleep. If Hades doesn't know that it would be uncomfortable for Nina to sleep like this, Hades would just hold her like this until she wakes up again.
He carefully laid Nina on the bed but he still didn't remove his hand on Nina's hands. Their hands now are both resting on Nina's tummy.
My child, daddy is here, I will take care of you and your mom. That's my promise. Hades silently swore.
