Samuel opened a door at the end of the hallway, the back and left side wall was lines with tall bookshelves, overflowing with tall, tattered old books. The room had tall glass wide windows with metal detailed frames, across the room there where desks, covered with papers, stacks of books and ink pots with quills, some had people hunched over them, others had chairs pulled out, most likely belonging to the few people searching high and low on the bookshelves. Holloway counted 4 other desks aside from one, an empty desk which she assumed was now hers. Samuel closed the door behind them, the sound did not seem to disturb any of the archivists with there work, Samuel turned to Holloway, "These are your associates, now as you know i only know there names, so any more information you will have to ask yourself. The ash blond behind the corner desk is Dr Harriet Peters, the black haired female in the top bookshelf is Miss Carrie Henry, the white haired male stacking those papers is Dr Landon Marks and finally the female with half red half black hair is Miss Hypatia Jonas."
Samuel promptly left re closing the door behind him, Holloway still holding the stack of books walked over to the empty desk and began, undoing the bow and reaching for the first book Holloway grabbed some of the given parchment and dipped the quill in ink, the title of this book stated in Latin, 'Geoman-Tia Nova' Holloway immediately recognized this book from her doctorate studies, gloving her hands to protect the book she began the translation, this had to be some of the easiest work she had done in years. Carrie on her way back to her desk noticed how easily Holloway was translating the faded Latin text, "How are you doing that?" "Holloway sat up and put her quill back into the ink pot, "Oh, i can read and write Latin, and speak it a little." Carrie's eyes widened, "Wow, i think your probably one of the first archivists we've had that can do all three! The only other is that sour puss Landon." Carrie gestured to behind her where Landon was putting a large book back into its place on one of the top shelves.
Carrie put her papers down and lent on Holloway's desk, "So how did you learn to do all of that?" Holloway fiddled with her thumbs in embarrassment, "Well i have a doctorate from the Royal Latin University of Literature and Linguistics in Ancient Latin and foreign literature." Carrie's eyes widened further, "That's like top of the top university's on this side of the hemisphere, statistically only 0.5 percent of their acceptances continue on after their first semester!" The ash blond Holloway remembered was Harriet walked over and put a hand on Carrie's shoulder, "Carrie calm down, your going to scare the poor girl." Holloway laughed as Harriet's attention turned to her putting a hand out Holloway shook it, " Dr Harriet Peters, but Samuel probably already told you that." Holloway stood from her desk.
"Yes he did, oh i'm Dr Holloway Joseph." Harriet smiled but had a hint of surprise in his voice, "Another doctor, well the more the merrier." Carrie piped up, almost jumping up and down on the spot, "Harriet did you know?! She has a doctorate from the Royal Latin-" Putting a hand on her shoulder to stop her from taking off, "University for Literature and Linguistics, yes Carrie i did know, you weren't exactly quiet about it." Holloway seated herself back down, "Well i really would like to chat all day, but i have this stack to translate before i head home." Harriet and Carrie looked to each other but Landon was the first to break the silence. "Check your left pocket." With visible confusion Holloway did so, pulling out a rustic style key it had a engraved wooden plaque hung on its key-ring it read 'Dr Holloway Joseph. 10 C.' "Is this a house key?" Landon stood. "Halls did that to all of us, theirs a housing building attached to the archive, we each have a room, a bed and bath with communal kitchens and common room below it, it's not terrible." Carrie took up her papers, planting them on her desk she looked to Harriet, "If my watch tells me correctly it's 4 pm which means its clock out time!" Holloway looked at the stack of books but looking back the group all except for Harriet had left to the housing building.
"Don't worry about your work, one of the keepers locks the offices each night at 9 and unlocks it at 5 in the morning, now come on, its dinner time." Following Harriet out of the offices the door closed behind them. "Harriet, so if we are staying here, what about clothing and other amenities?" Harriet looked back as he lead Holloway down the halls, "Oh Halls has that arranged for each of us, she's really good at reading people based on penmanship, we think its a secret power of hers but Landon just calls us idiots. But she has a wide selection of clothing tailored for you, they will be in your room, pajamas and all." Holloway as taken aback, this part was definitely not in the job description. Harriet stopped "Here we are." Opening a large door Harriet revealed a large common area, it was decorated similarly to the rest of the cathedral.
